The Anantara brand, for me, embodies luxury and impeccable service. Unfortunately, this beautiful resort falls short of the Anantara standards and service I’ve come to expect and experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the disrepair of the water villas. Time had taken its toll, and the unforgiving weather had wreaked havoc on the villas. Lights were out, water dripped, and the TV needed repair. These issues were evident from the moment we stepped into our villa. It took two hours for them to be fixed, which could have been easily addressed before our arrival. It’s definitely not worth the price I paid. Our dinner reservation was a nightmare. There was constant miscommunication with the operator. They claimed the restaurant was fully booked, but when we arrived, it was practically empty. Even after we finished our meal, the restaurant was not full. The service was inconsistent throughout our five-day stay. While some staff members were excellent, the majority were unapproachable, disengaged, and unresponsive. Despite the beautiful surroundings and the Anantara brand, the service we received was truly forgettable. Perhaps they prioritize other guests, but not us.
