Boutique Beach All Inclusive Diving Hotel

From arriving at Male airport I was greeted by a BB representative who explained clearly my onward speedboat transfer to the beautiful island of Dhigurah. The speedboat transfer was good although the representative had told me to sit at the back as it would be less bumpy. It took less than 2 hours to reach Dhigurah. I was met at the dock by a member of the BB team who collected my bags from the boat and took me to Boutique Beach hotel. Upon arrival I was given an ice cold towel and a young fresh coconut drink. I was checked in and escorted to my room. As a diver I was given a crate to decant my dive gear into and a member of the dive team took my equipment to the dive centre. I must say at this point the dive team are exceptional. I did not have to lift a finger again with my equipment until I received it back at the end of my trip washed and dried. The two dive guides Jac and David were great. Very experienced in the water and pointed out many critters. Alex the in-house marine biologist was great, definitely knew her stuff and did a great whale-shark presentation. She also made a mean cup of English tea both on the boat and in the hotel reception. 10 out of 10 for the dive team, great boat, and great captains, who were able to drop you at the exact spot. The hotel is fantastic. My room was spacious, cool and I had the biggest bed which was super comfortable. Romney who is the owner and fellow diver has thought of everything that a guest would need. Good quality soft furnishings, bedding and amenities. And guess what? My sewing kit which was in the room came in handy to do a quick repair :) Don’t take shampoo conditioner body wash body cream as each room has a supply of Molton Brown toiletries. Hair dryer is also included. Food: Well, I cannot say enough about how good the food is. High quality ingredients made for delightful meals. The chefs made the best curries ever!! Also need to mention Alex (MB) is Spanish and a a special treat she made Spanish Omelette it was delicious!! Dinner was served in the rooftop terrace weather permitting which made a perfect ending to the day. I would like to say a special Thank-you to ALL the BB team and what a team they are. 10 out of 10. We had the most amazing time at Boutique Beach! Professional and enjoyable diving, a clean and charming hotel with super delicious food! Everyone is so helpful and friendly; it really feels homely, as if you are staying with family. We can highly recommend it!

Ende Januar, Anfang Februar haben wir zwei sehr schöne und beeindruckende Wochen in diesem Haus mit Tauch- und Schnorchelaktivitäten verbracht. Anreise schnell mit dem Schnellboot. Wir bekamen wie gewünscht ein Zimmer im ersten Stock, sehr geräumig und Freiluftdusche, Balkon blickte zum Strand. Es geht jeden Tag früh los, aber das macht ja nichts, durch die Zeitumstellung fällt es nicht auf. Dafür sind alle nach dem DIner auf der wunderschönen Dachterrasse oder eimal sogar am Strand müde und man fällt früh ins Bett. Frühstück mit allem was man braucht, schönes Obst. Mittagessen als Lunch und abends wie gesagt Diner unter Sternenhimmel. Sehr gut Koch aus Sri Lanka. Man kann immer am Buffet nachfassen,wenn man möchte. Die früh startenden Touren entweder als Halbtagstouren mit Lunch im Hotel, oder Ganztagstouren mit Frühstück und Lunch an Bord. Wir sind Schnorchler, hatten in der Regel täglich etwa 2x 45 Minuten Schnorchelgänge mit Führer, teilweise 3. Fünf Mal waren wir auf langen Touren zur westlichen Atollgrenze, gute 2 Stunden Fahrt, da dort zu dieser Zeit die Walhaie waren - und wir hatten 4x Anblick. Die Tauchercrew versucht alles um Walhaie zu finden, stundenlanges erfolgreiches Suchen. Und wenn auf den Touren ein Manta oder Delfine auftauchen, wird gestoppt und geschnorchelt. Wunderbar! Für die Taucher nach unserem Empfinden perfekte Einweisungen, gutes Material. Und abends gibt es vor dem Essen ein Meeting zur Besprechung des nächsten Tages und den Filmaufnahmen des Tages. Als Schnorchler sieht man dann aus der Nähe Manta Cleaning stations und anderes, was man als Schnorchler nur erahnen konnte. Das ganze Team: Küche, Restaurant, Housekeeping und die Tauchguides (zum Groosteilwohl aus England) sehr interessiert, immer auf der Suche und sehr hilfsbereit. Hat uns sehr gut gefallen und viele unvergessliche Eindrücke mitgenommen! Wir kommen mal wieder! Zum Hafen brachte uns die gesamte Rezeptionsmannschaft!

When I say this place is amazing I mean it on every level. I’ve been to several dive resorts and this was the best run outfit I’ve experienced. The dive staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and safety conscious. They know the area, the dive sites, the currents, and the divers! They did an excellent job looking out for creatures in the ocean and creatures on the boat (i.e. us). This place is the opposite of a cattle car dive operation. The largest group we dove with had four people and one dive master. The boat was not crowded and the dive leads did a great job finding lots of amazing and little things. They pointed out nudibranchs and they (and the staff on the boat) did a great job looking out for opportunities to snorkel with whale sharks and mantas in between dives, as if the great dives weren’t enough. I especially want to recommend Mette, though all the dive staff were stellar. I was having some trouble and when I asked for her advice I got an analysis of my technique, why it was causing me trouble, and she noticed that my BCD did not fit me well and was messing up my profile in the water. She clearly had been paying attention the day before, and she provided me with advice on how to improve my frog kick and general skills in current, and I also learned a few new things that helped with equalizing my ears. I have over 200 dives, so these weren’t total newbie tips either! If you get to dive with Mette, take advantage of her amazing ability to assess your diving (and your gear) and provide you with some rock star dive tips. But it’s not just the dive staff that make this place so good. It’s all the staff. From the Chef who made sure I always had a gluten free alternative at meals, to the incredible folks who picked me up at the airport, hauled my gear around, left our room spotless every day, and a million other little things. Boutique Beach has an “all one team” approach, meaning everyone plays an important part in making the experience wonderful for their guests. For this reason when you tip, the tip gets divided up between all the staff, not just the ones you interact with. I think this is one reason everything runs so smoothly on all fronts. If you want an amazing dive experience, thoughtful staff, a beautiful location, and a peaceful place to stay when you are done seeing what’s under the ocean, I highly recommend Boutique Beach!

Best dive resort I’ve been to. The level of service is incredible! Metta and the rest of the staff go over and above to make sure you feel welcome, your stay is safe, and filled with all of the incredible dive sites and opportunities to see everything the Maldives have to offer. I can’t say enough good things! They really take excellent care of you here.
