The host or owner of this hotel was incredibly rude and angry each time we interacted with him, it made us feel super uncomfortable - on arrival he yelled about how the website we booked on should not have allowed us to book with him, how he hates the website we used, that we booked the room too last minute, after he showed us to our room which was the wrong room than what we booked he yelled how no one had paid him yet and someone needed to pay him, when we were eating breakfast he told us he had “no more fruit” for us (everyone else had received a large gorgeous bowl of fruits) and tried to take our plates away before we were finished because he had “things to do” - just every interaction with that man was insane. He seemed very unhappy that people were staying in his hotel? No hot water also which ******, but it was clean and spacious in our cabin. Unless you enjoy cold showers and degradation, do not stay here.

Beautiful location in the Daintree rainforest. Very quiet, serene & peaceful. Greg (owner/operator) made an excellent full breakfast. Definitely recommend the stay

We arrived at Daintree Peaks ECO Stays later in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by the owner, Greg. He showed us to our room and shared some helpful information about the lodge and its surroundings. Once settled, we took a leisurely walk around the property, admiring the abundance of fruit trees Greg has growing, before enjoying a refreshing dip in the creek — the water was beautifully clear and bracingly cold. That evening, my partner and I chose a board game from the lodge’s collection while waiting for dinner, which added to the relaxed and homely atmosphere. Dinner was a highlight: steak with vegetables and sautéed greens, cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyed. Greg was incredibly attentive throughout the evening, always making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our room was spotless, comfortably air-conditioned, and very peaceful, allowing us both to enjoy an excellent night’s sleep. In the morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast, including an array of freshly picked fruit and eggs on toast, which my partner particularly enjoyed. Overall, we absolutely loved our one-night stay. For two people who are constantly busy with work, it was the perfect opportunity to unwind, switch off, and truly appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of the world’s oldest rainforest.

First the good points. The property is in a very picturesque location. The grounds are inviting. The area is quiet. The bed was comfortable. Now the not so good. Our stay was a birthday treat for my wife. The price we paid was excessive given that the accomodation is basically similar to a cabin in a caravan park. There is a sign on the door saying guests are not permitted to eat in their rooms and must eat at the cafe, but the cafe wasn’t operating. Supposedly there should have been complementary toiletries, but liquid soap is all you get. Certainly not value for money.

Things started off a bit poorly as google maps tried to send us via the CREB 4WD track, but once we figured out there was a ferry that cut off about 4 hours of travel we were on our way. The chalet we had was clean and tidy and suited us just fine. Greg (host) provided us with home cooked meals (with the help of his wife Lisa) at night, and a two course breakfast in the morning. We had a couple of cold beers each night and enjoyed Greg’s stories of his time working in remote parts of the world. We also didn’t mind his direct view of world affairs. We would definitely return if in the Daintree area again.

A peaceful, relaxing stay. We enjoyed chatting and comparing our overseas experiences with the owners, Greg and his wife Lisa. Our meals were straightforward homecooked food, more than adequate serves. The fruit salad at breakfast was freshly made using some of the fruits from their garden. The chalets are comfortable, good sized with a comfortable bed. Air-conditioning is available but we didn't need it in late September/early October as the as the windows provided good ventilation. Despite the setbacks of Covid and cyclones our hosts provide a good ecologically aware service. Wifi was also excellent. We would be happy to stay again. Thanks for the stay

We had a great stay. George the owner is very proud of his property and showed us all around his gardens. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Very convenient to Daintree Discovery Center. All damage from the December 2023 “extreme rain event” have been repaired. Don’t hesitate to book. You can have breakfast and dinner at the hotel cafe. Otherwise, there are very limited restaurant options, and no markets nearby, so stock up before you get on the ferry, either at Mossman or Port Douglas.

Fabulous stay in wonderful location, surrounded by forest and the sound of birdsong. Enjoyed chatting to our friendly host Greg. Rooms were very clean and comfortable -great shower, All doors/ windows fitted with insect screens. Just a wonderful, memorable stay.
