I would like to preface this review by saying that I am well travelled and the furthest thing from posh you could imagine. When travelling, I always try to support local businesses so I can leave them good reviews and boost them up. However, this was definitely not the case at The Beverly Inn. I was booked for an overnight stay while in Doncaster on business. I had booked a twin room without en-suite at £40.50. I had read Google reviews and wasn't expecting the Ritz, just a bed to sleep on and a space to get dressed and freshened up for the second day, so I went ahead and booked. On the first day of my course, another attendee told me he had to book out of there after 1 night as it was awful - I laughed and told him he was probably exaggerating. When I arrived that evening, the staff member was friendly enough, took my payment and handed me a room key. When I got up there, I realised that the walls were all speckled in black mould, particularly noticeable around the bed frames. I went back downstairs and asked if there were any other rooms, as I wasn't comfortable sleeping with mould present. He said they had no more twin rooms available, but that he would give me a free upgrade to a family suite, which was very kind of him. He did also say 'The cleaner is sh!t', but I let this slide because he wasn't rude in saying so and was young and chatty - However I would expect the management to know that mould needs to be treated, not cleaned or covered up. I took my keys and headed up to the new room, expecting it to be the end of this experience. No.. Turns out it was just the start! I entered and everything looked ok, but upon closer inspection, there were cobwebs everywhere, a bullet hole in the window, and the mattress protector was totally gross. I tried to look past all of this and went into the bathroom to take a shower. What I stumbled upon was horrific. The shower unit was so covered in mould you could smell it from the room if the windows were closed (which is probably why they weren't). There was also a towel with urine and faeces all over it in the shower. The toilet was stained blue where they clearly appy toilet cleaner and leave it rather than actually scrubbing it, and the extractor fan was so full of dust it no longer operates. The lights didn't work in the room, and the mugs had crusty brown marks on that flake away when you scrape them. Also mould in the kettle, and a suspicious white crust over some of the curtains, which I thought I'd leave to my imagination rather than inspect any further. I went back downstairs (where I noticed that my booking and personal details were still displayed on the screen in full view of customers!) and asked for a refund, only to be told by a woman on the bar 'I can't give you a refund without the managers permission, and she's not here. I might not even be able to give you a refund today, let alone right now.' Eventually I did leave with a refund, but I am genuinely shocked that the place i

Mouldy & dirty shower. Unclean wc. & whb. Very uncomfortable bed could feel the springs. Needs re decor throughout. Staff & food very good.
