The Inn on the Green

We stumbled on this pub by accident as our planned venue had changed hands and had been sold. We were very pleased that we did as the food was perfectly cooked, plentiful and inexpensive, with the staff being attentitive, friendly and very helpful. We will be going again in the neat future.

Had a lovely meal here today for mothers day...I'm not a one for reviews but thought it was worth letting the staff know how much we all enjoyed our mothers day lunch. Food was lovely but the staff and service were second to none. Everyone was so polite and made my mothers day really special. There were 15 of us including children so as always we usually expect a bit of chaos but inn on the green were so organised and made everyone feel special. They were fully booked but didn't make us feel rushed to eat our dinner and after we enjoyed a few drinks in their beer garden. Thankyou inn on the green we will definetly be returning .

Extremely friendly staff great service. Very noisy road outside but they do provide ear plugs. Shower cubicle needs updating quite a bit of mould in the shower area. Overall an enjoyable stay

A warm welcome and very good value. We had a lovely overnight stay in this historic inn. Although some of the property looked rather tired, we had a large comfortable bed, bath with good shower over, toiletries and all necessities. The breakfast was excellent - we chose cereal and a full English. Our evening meal was also very tasty with a good selection of options. If the weather had been warmer, it would have been lovely to sit out in the large garden, and there was also a play area which children would enjoy.

We have been staying here for the Christmas week, my wife and dog called Betty. Its an amazing traditional old inn with so much character in the building and surroundings. The customer service by the landlady the lovely Julie was first classl. All staff we have encountered have been very lovely, helpful and so professional. We were checked in by Ali on our first night who have us such a lovely welcome. The food and menu is very good, a very good choice and all meals we have had including the breakfast have been sensational. Julie cooks a lovely bit of bacon in the morning ! Hunters Chicken, Sausages and Mash and Surf and Turf burger were all very good. The prices were fair and reasonable. Good range of drinks and a couple of well chosen, well kept and pullled "real" beer such as Sheer Drop and Mosaic. Lovely. Big pub with pool table, billiards table and plenty of seating. Very cosy pub and very cosy rooms all decorated to a good traditional pub standard. We also paid for one of our oldest freinds to stay here with us as the place and staff was so good. PET FREINDLY !!! THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE MOST APRECIATED ESPECIALLY AS OUR PET IS PRIMARILY AN ASSISTNACE DOG /SERVICE DOG. Good Christmas decorations and trees ! It will be sad to checkout on Friday and go back to reality but we would certainly reccomend if you like traditional historic country pub style hotels . Sam Covill.

Bank Holiday stay We felt the accommodation was quiet and comfortable for the price we paid. Friendly hardworking landlady. Enjoyed breakfast, and meals were available. Those we had were very enjoyable.
