Approaching the end of the trip - the accommodation cannot be recommended higher. The host went above and beyond to help and guide myself and partner and saved us a lot of time by staying to explain the must see sights. Highly recommended.

This comment is not just about being clean, tidy, good service and good location to express my feelings! What I want to say is that the layout is very unique and artistic, making full use of all resources but not crowded, and reflecting the high taste and careful management of the operator everywhere! The location is excellent, just under Dover Castle and an easy walk to the Maison Dieu and the high street. Free parking is available if booked in advanced. Breakfast is self-catering with a wide selection of cereals and fruit. Considering the age of the building (early 19C), the design of the modern communal kitchen is very impressive. Typical of a house of that period, there are many stairs and levels. Each level has something interesting to see or read. There is a separate reading lounge on the ground floor. My single room was a very sweet little suite, with a little plant strewn balcony facing west and flooded with afternoon sunlight. It was a pleasure sitting there. The property has been in the family or a while, and they are true born and bred residents of Dover. So the love and respect for the house is evident. Thee are not invisible landlords, but very approachable and knowledgeable.
