Shades

We recently spent a week at Shades of Barbados, staying in the Penthouse apartment. This is a beautiful little hotel, nestled amongst wonderful greenery, a two minute walk down the road to Paynes Bay Beach (be careful while crossing the road at the bottom of the hotel road. It can get busy. One does not hear this road from the hotel. The beach itself is beautiful and is about 500 m long. We had the privilege of seeing turtles feeding near the beach). We heard and saw many birds from our terrace. We also saw monkeys in the garden. The pool was very nice and refreshing. There is a small gym with free weights and a few machines, which we appreciated. The apartment itself was well stocked, clean and very comfortable as well as beautiful. Rochelle was incredibly attentive and helpful. All in all a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.

If you want a tropical oasis on the busy tourist island of Barbados, this is it! I spent a week in this accommodation which was excellent, well-presented. Everything is in close proximity to these apartment including buses to get anywhere on the island. Roxanne is an excellent host just a phone call away and she went above and beyond. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Barbados.

Once again we had a lovely stay at Shades. Rochelle is an amazing host with the added bonus of seeing her beautiful daughter. Thank you for looking after us. Great location and beautiful gardens and pool. The apartments are family owned and they really do care.
