Friendly front desk. We had a sumptuous dinner at the hotel restaurant. There are many attractions near the vixinity.

Great location with nice people ! I got a stomach ache on the oysters! Maybe if was just me ! Rooms small but comfortable! I was very cold at night ! I would go back !

We were needing a hotel stay of 3 days that was not too far from Port Arthur and Hobart airport. The Lufra Beachside Hotel suited our requirements as it also offered a bar, restaurant, beautiful views from our ground floor patio overlooking Tessellated Pavement and Pirates Bay beach. Our room came equipped with a kitchen and washer/dryer. An extra bonus is that they have very friendly,helpful staff to make it an enjoyable experience. (thanks Sarah)

We recently stayed at the Lufra Hotel whilst doing some local walking. Whilst the location of the hotel is nice with a good view over a nice bay, the hotel is extremely tired. The bathrooms have been renovated in each room but the carpets must be original as they have patches of black on them and are sticky. The rooms are very basic. On a positive, the staff in the cafe were wonderful and so friendly and the food in the restaurant for dinner was quite nice. Breakfast however was very basic. Fine for one night but there are better local options.

We stayed at the Lufra due to the kitchen and laundry features as we are doing a road trip around Tasmania. I certainly did not expect to find for $126 such a high quality apartment with ocean views. The apartments have been recently constructed and have been tastefully decorated with modern fittings, a very comfortable bed, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and full kitchen facilities. I have attached photos of the venue, it exceeded my expectations of a hotel at this price point. I would even consider staying here just to unwind. Accommodation is 15 minutes from Port Arthur.

Very friendly staff especially Timmy the bar man. Great bistro and we had to eat breakfast out or ours for an early morning scuba dive which was organized with ease by Sarah. Rooms are small but spotless and would certainly stay again. It had been 55 years since my last visit to The Lufra !

This place is in a lovely location with beautiful views out to see. The only problem for us was that if you wanted to open your window to get air you had the cigarette smoke from the patio area below not to mention the noise and questionable language to listen to. Don't get one of these rooms of which there are quite a few.

The hotel’s fabulous location right near the beach suited us; the proximity to historical and major nature sights was a plus too. Staff could not have been more friendly, accommodating and professional, especially Sarah in reception. We had a ground floor king studio with some view of the beach: the beds were very comfortable, the whole place was very clean and the washing machine a real bonus! We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant and the continental breakfast was good too! In short: we would definitely return and highly recommend this property!

Lufra Hotel was in a great location with a beautiful view over beach and mountains. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were great. There is a restaurant on site which was so convenient. Close to natural sight seeing landmarks of cliffs and sea.

My son and myself had a twin share apartment. We were on the ground floor, the apartment felt like it stood alone due to its design and position. Great views, spotlessly clean. For travellers staying more than our one night there's a washing machine in the apartment. The bed was comfortable as was the couch, and clean. There wasn't much space to get to the bed near the window but that really wasn't an issue for us. The Hotel is beautiful, amazing views, welcoming and modern ie not dated, friendly staff and locals. The menu isn't huge but the food is good and is consistently so as we have visited previously. There are a couple of vegetarian/vegan options. We will definitely be visiting again more often, particularly as we live an hour away, and letting our friends know. Just to add, the tessalated pavement on the shoreline was interesting. We walked to the the bluff/island, I was completely in awe of the clarity of the water, and the unspoilt beauty. The water was so clear both my son and myself trod in rock pools on separate occasions. The beach is beautiful just to add.
