Aldrich Guest House

The house is beautiful, the breakfast is varied and delicious, cocktail hour was a delight, and the innkeepers, Robert and Douglas, were attentive, funny and informative. The location is perfect, a short walk to downtown. We would definitely stay again!

We visit Galena several times a year, and we look forward to staying at Aldrich House as much as any other aspect of our trips. The house is perfectly maintained, and provides a comfortable and relaxing home base for our adventures in and around Galena. There's no detail that hosts Robert and Douglas haven't thought of to make a stay there enjoyable and worry-free. Their original recipes for breakfast dishes and 5pm cocktails and snacks are always delicious. The parlor, dining room and screened porch are all wonderful spaces in which to gather with fellow guests to share food, drink and conversation. If you want suggestions, Robert and Douglas have all the information you need about Galena's many attractions, and will help out with reservations and tickets. We truly consider Aldrich House to be our home away from home when we enjoy a Galena get-away!

For the past ten years, Aldrich Guest House is the only place I stay when visiting Galena. With the great shopping and restaurants, Galena is always a fun place to visit. Aldrich Guest House is light and airy, fresh and clean. Plus, the breakfast are always wonderful. As a treat, Douglas bakes the most wonderful chocolate chip cookies! Robert and Douglas are the best hosts.

I can not say enough positive things! This was my second stay at the Aldrich house. The two owners are kind, clear, helpful, caring and so organized! The house is comfortable, historic and interesting, stunning and so well cared for. You can feel the deep interest and care of the two owners from the booking of your visit through the end. The location is perfect, quiet and gorgeous. I cannot recommend this enough. Enjoy your stay! And you WILL!

We were very impressed by the house and the team of Douglas and Robert, the owners. From starting with a tour and history of the home to ending with a small goodbye gift it was a wonderful time. We especially liked the early evening snack and drink daily get togethers We are looking forward to future visits to the Aldridge House.

Robert and Douglas made this getaway fabulous. The food was amazing, the hospitality was top-notch, everything was perfect. My husband and I really enjoyed talking to both of them they made us feel so at home. They are both super knowledgeable about their home and the town it was great to hear the stories.
