De Vere Horsley Estate

Excellent hotel, rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and food was at a good standard.

Very, very happy with our room within Horsely Towers. would highly recommend. We were not so enamoured with the lack of room service offered . Especially with having to walk outside in poor weather conditions for breakfast. for this reason we opted to eat out for two of the three evenings. This was not made clear during booking. I would wholly expect an establishment such as De Vere offering a far better service in this area. This let you down, when you have achieved so much in other areas .

We have stopped here previously without any issues for which is the reason we booked again for three nights. The following morning of our first night I went to reception for which she politely said “Good Morning “ for which I replied “is it?” I explained that we hadn’t had a good nights sleep due to being on the ground floor and outside our room was a path light that shone like a beacon. We couldn’t draw the curtains due to the heat and not having air conditioning we needed to try and get some air circulation in the room. I asked if there was anyway she could move us. The receptionist apologised immediately and said she was move us upstairs so we wouldn’t have the light issue. The room was lovely and we managed to sleep for the remaining two nights without any issues. Breakfast was again great such a varied selection to choose from. We also ate in the restaurant for the three nights whilst we were there choosing the buffet which was fantastic on variation and quality. The only downside is not being given the 10% discount for purchases at the bar and restaurant for being an applause member. When I mentioned it to the head waiter on our last night he said it was down to the receptionist to have given us a sticker on the room card. When I mentioned this to the receptionist on vacating she blamed the restaurant staff. Who ever was to blame I missed out on £14.00.

DO NOT STAY HERE. To say the room ( rm 80) was dirty would be an understatement. I have stayed in Travelodges that have been more upmarket than this. Worst De Vere Ive stayed at. The room is an absolute hole How ever this passed as a de vere hotel ill never know. Will definitely be not returning. Top tip Thatchers Hotel is a 10 minute walk if you fancy a nice drink and meal

1 night stay for bussiness. Room was clean and had every thing I needed. Not a great nights sleep due to sound proofing between rooms . I was woken at midnight by loud talking and the TV from the room next door,which carried on until 1:30am. Had the burger in the bar for dinner it was under cooked and didnt come with bacon as per the menu defintly not worth the money. Breakfast was excellent, good selection and cooked items cooked to perfection.

I booked this hotel as I had previously had great experience of staying at the Latimer de vere hotel, however this was a very different experience. The room superficially appears very nice, the bed was very comfortable and clean. I found a partially eaten nectarine on the floor making me think that the carpets hadn’t been hoovered recently. However my main issue was that the bathroom was disgusting, there were 3 hairs in the bath, male urine had congealed around the lip of the bath, there was pink mould and black mould in the grouting. The sink was crusty and clearly hadn’t seen cleaning product in weeks. In the women bathroom near the restaurant 2 of the sinks where very loose and just as dirty as the one in my room.
