The Country Inn of Lancaster

I picked this hotel and had high hopes. I didn’t want to go to a chain hotel while in Lancaster. There were several things I was not impressed with. I will say that the room is dated but I knew that going in and I was fine with it. Also, the bathroom was very clean . However, the room was musty. We checked in on Wednesday and came back Thursday night and Friday night with no changing of towels, bed made or rug vacuumed. My husband went down to the front desk and was told they only clean the room on a two day schedule so our room was not scheduled to be taken care of until Saturday. The towels were not changed out. I don’t mind using a towel for more than one day. However, there were no hooks on the bathroom door to hang the towels so we had towels trying to dry them all over the room. My husband spoke to the front desk and we were told we could request them and then throw the other ones outside the door, Then, at 2 a.m. in the morning a light shining on the parking lot came on and was shining right into the room. I understand the need for lights in parking lots but to come on at 2 a.m.???? Most people have already gone through the parking lot to get to their room. I will say the front desk clerks were all very pleasant. I won’t be staying here again and would not recommend it.

It’s not a bad property but it is showing its age. I had stopped coming here years ago because of a musty odor from the carpets and I switched to the other Country Inn (now Parkview). When their rates went insane, we tried this property again. No mildew smell; they pulled up the carpets. I think they’re slowly renovating… my other room has had an updated air conditioner. Ours is pretty loud but it does work. The towel rack is loose and I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom to find the toilet bowl full of towels and a towel bar on the floor. To their credit, when we told them we needed towels they offered to come and fix it immediately, but it made little sense as we were checking out the next day. Ask to stay in the front building.. the free breakfast has more items on offer. The pool is nice but the jets in the hot tub are broken per my wife. On the plus side, they do have shampoo and conditioners in the room but a refrigerator would be nice.. especially given the tendency to purchase baked goods in the area. Also, as a side note.. I used my credit card to buy a $3 soda and my card got charged $3.15 cents. I plan on following up on that with my credit card company.

Hotel scelto per la posizione, nel viaggio tra le cascate del Niagara e Philadelphia. Logisticamente ben posizionato per un giro tra le fattorie Amish, seppur si trovi in zona periferica. Tipologia di alloggio come mi aspettavo, essendo un Inn, accoglienza super gentile alla reception, ma sulla camera stendiamo un pietoso velo... Puzza di umido e pulizia approssimativa, per fortuna avevamo una sola notte prenotata. Piscina non allettante, chiaramente non provata. Colazione in uno spazio angusto e con pochissime opzioni. Peccato, basterebbe poco per rendere il tutto più gradevole...
