Where can I start, my son had booked us a 2 night stay for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived at the front, the car park was full to bursting. The receptionist who greeted us was wearing a Fat Willy's Surf Shack T-shirt!!!, I said my son booked a ground floor double bedroom with a wet room, when I mentioned this I was told they they were not disabled friendly, had no wet rooms, but a lift was available!!! I said that there was no parking and she told me that there was a car park round the back, and not to worry about the disabled signs, just park anywhere as it's a private car park!! Again I am disabled, so needed a space!! Our room was 310, the furthest away from the lift, had to walk on threadbare, lumpy carpets and felt like we were in the Staff Area, oh and there was 3/4 steps to contend with too!!! When we got to the room, we had single beds, and a bathroom that was no good to me, I just burst into tears!! My husband went down to complain, and she just said that it was Booking.coms fault. We were told the restaurant wasn't open, yet there was at least 10 tables sat at, so we went out, there was no spaces when we came back, my husband dropped me & went to park. The bed was clean and comfy, that was the only good thing. Breakfast was inedible!!! At first we were stopped again and told it wasn't 8am, no it was 7.58am!! The man tried to take my rollator from me before I had sat down. The baked beans were dry, the sausage like a bullet, the bacon extremely chewy, and all luke warm. I had toast in the end. The coffee was undrinkable. Needless to say we didn't stay the 2nd night, we checked out after breakfast!!! My husband tried complaining again, but the receptionist just carried on typing and ignored him completely. My son deserves a refund, he tried to do something nice for us, but I came home more stressed!!! Old, tired, rude staff, vile food, dangerous carpets and not disabled friendly, but nowhere have I been able to find where it tells you 'not disabled friendly'.
