South Pacific Memories

My partner and I had the most incredible stay here for 5 nights. The whole place is absolutely beautiful, the gardens, dining areas, pool and walkways are all so well looked after. We were actually surprised by how spacious it felt. With only four bungalows spread out across the property, each with its own lovely garden space, it never felt crowded. They easily could have fit more, but the choice to keep it small and peaceful really made a difference. Anne and Petter were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and accommodating, and they really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Laura and Ed were also fantastic, full of great advice for things to do, and all the other staff were equally helpful and friendly. The food was beautiful, with so much care put into using fresh local produce meaning every meal felt really special. And having the beach literally out the front was perfect. The reef starts just meters off the shore, and the amount of marine life right there was amazing with so many fish and corals, and all the snorkeling gear was provided (and really good quality too). As keen snorkelers, having such easy access to the reef was a huge highlight. We also loved being just outside of town — far enough to be peaceful and quiet, but still only a quick bike ride or bus trip into town when we wanted. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more, and would love to come back one day!

We stayed at South Pacific Memories for 11 nights and it was perfect. Peter and Anne were kind and generous hosts and have put so much thought into their beautiful property. We loved our very spacious and private villa and the fact that it had a rooftop terrace amongst the tropical trees. The pool area overlooking the ocean was divine, as was the food. A highlight was the traditional Laplap dinner at a local house across the road. We loved being able to snorkel and kayak in the ocean directly out the front of the property and although we didn’t end up diving, it would be a perfect place to learn. We enjoyed everything about our stay and can’t wait to return to this paradise!

South Pacific Memories is a few kms outside of Port Vila set on the beach. The Beach is mostly coral but is teaming with life (mainly hermit crabs). We found the owners (Peter and Anna) to be absolutely lovely and very passionate and knowledgeable about the area especially what lives in the water. If you are a scuba diver who loves marine life then a dive there is a must. I have never seen so may Nudibranches in a single dive and the rest of the marine life comes out to put on a show. I dove with Anna and she points out the most interesting things. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is fantastic and they are very accommodating to dietary requirements.

Following the 7.3 earthquake in Vanuatu we relocated to this Resort as they had a powerful generator that meant the kitchen and the rooms had electricity. That meant we could access the internet to connect with family back in Australia who were worried. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the lounge area near the kitchen always has a breeze and the outdoor dining area is perfect. For me the best part was that the chef understood what gluten free meant!! We were served delicious 4 course, gluten free meals for 6 nights running, which was a miracle given most shops were closed! Anne and Peter were lovely hosts, looking after the guests like family even though they had lots of things to clean up and Peter had to be medivaced to New Caledonia for treatment to a head injury 2 days after the earthquake.

We went to South Pacific Memories for lunch; we were very warmly greeted, then kindly shown around & invited to snorkel infront of the property after. The food was amazing & the property was kept immaculate… very clean with beautiful attention to decor. The owners & staff are very friendly & welcoming.

Absolutely beautiful location on the beach. Large comfortable villa and great staff. Our stay in November exceeded expectations and we would highly recommend. Hosts Peter and Anna were always available and helpful. Definitely stay again.
