"Overall, the experience was positive, as we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and had a pleasant week, fulfilling our summer goal: to disconnect, relax, and enjoy ourselves. However, there were a few minor issues we didn't like. As I mentioned, the hotel is good, recently renovated, with large and comfortable rooms, good facilities (swimming pool, children's pool with slides, rooftop pool for adults, large cafeteria, etc.), and, in general, the buffet staff, in particular, were very friendly and pleasant. The issues: upon arrival, we were given a room upgrade, which we appreciated, but as soon as we entered, there was an unpleasant smell in both the hallway and our room. They used air freshener, a "scented bactericide" that lost its effectiveness after a few hours. We requested a room change, and although they moved us to a room next to our daughters' (who didn't have this problem), the situation was resolved. Everything would be normal if it weren't for the comments like "we don't know where the smell is coming from," "we have empty rooms blocked off because of it," "there's no solution," which leaves you with the feeling that "they knew, and if it works, it works," especially knowing that they've reoccupied the room. But the smell on the 5th floor is nauseating at times (my daughters had to stay there even though their room wasn't the problem). On the other hand, there are three or four people at the buffet who don't know anything about customer service or handling simple situations. A simple sentence would have solved everything, but this person left us hanging, rudely, and when I finally resolved the issue (yes, me), in two minutes and politely, she decided to talk to her colleagues. That day, and two more times, in their area (when these three or four people were present), they didn't clear our plates as they always had (and as everyone else did) and as they did at the surrounding tables. I repeat, it was only three or four people, as the rest of the staff were very friendly, pleasant, and helpful, just as we were, saying "thank you" when they cleared the plates, greeting them with a smile, and being polite. What I mean by this is that there were no harsh words, gestures, or rudeness on our part. In fact, we took it in stride and continued enjoying ourselves; it wasn't worth spoiling the moment. However, the reception staff we dealt with (there were more, of course, but I can't speak for everyone) were quite unfriendly. We overheard them talking about customers who were no longer there, making comments in front of other customers... a minimum level of courtesy and attention is expected in a business like this. We left, and when we handed over our cards and said we were leaving, the response was simply "okay." Not even a simple "How were you?" or "Have a good trip"... I think that's important for a business like this, but if no one is monitoring these things... Another thing I see, not just in this hotel, but in most, but no one in management or responsible for the hotel seems to take responsibility for it, is the poor behavior of people in the common areas. Children jumping barefoot on white leather (or imitation leather) sofas after the beach, elderly people lying down with their feet on the sofas, tables, and chairs... I think these are places we all go, and these things should be controlled. I REPEAT, our stay was good and we were comfortable, but it could have been better, without a doubt, with a little more attention and supervision. Finally, and this is NOT ABOUT THE HOTEL NOR IS IT AGAINST THEM, but I'm taking advantage of this channel to ask (I think many people agree): Why, when we pay for a hotel, with its taxes, and while we're in the same country, do we have to pay a tourist tax that not all places have? Tax on top of tax? I think it's an abuse and we should all protest about it."

"I didn't like what I saw upon arrival at all. I arrived yesterday, May 20th, in stifling heat, and the pool was closed. They kept it full and clean, for some reason they wouldn't let the Imserso staff use it. The room was a good size and comfortable, except the television was one of the smallest available and uncomfortable to watch. The food could have been better, with slightly higher quality products. Anyway, I hope something improves in the days I have left, and if so, I'll edit this review again."

"Really enjoying my stay at Brisamar, I chose the hotel because some rooms have fabulous views. It’s been a real bonus that the town is so well connected by train. I’ve visited Sitges, Calafell & Tarragona. It was easy to get here from Barcelona airport by the 99 bus then train. There are loads of restaurants nearby. My room on fourth floor was perfect, very quiet and you can see the sea from the shower! Spotlessly clean and quite stylish. Minor drawbacks; literally no storage & only one usable socket in bedroom. Emanuella on reception is so helpful, as are all employees. In summary, smashing hotel in a great location."
