"Defintely not a 4 star hotel. We booked a suite to give us plenty room for our 3 night stay which was fine but there were 3 dirty diapers on the veranda when we arrived, obviously thrown there by the previous residents but it took 2 days of complaining to get them removed and only once I had raised my voice. A very nice man from Norh Macedonia came and cleared them away and also got me teabags so I could use the facilities in the room. The ski room was idea for storing skis and drying boots and the bus stop is right outside the hotel to get you to the slopes. Breakfast is very basic and none of the cooked fod was hot, just luke warm. Needs to improve before I would return."

"Tolerable for a night or two, impossible to recommend for longer stays. Huge impressive building with a fine view over Engelberg, a little distance above the centre and a series of lifts and tunnels plus a walk and bus ride to the ski lifts. Rooms in the new section seemed recently renovated, but my bed was too firm for comfortable sleep. Buffet breakfasts were mediocre but acceptable for short stays. Many guests are in large groups and only stay one night or maybe two. Dinners are also buffet style for all courses and were disappointing rather than awful. Most of the staff were professional and friendly and the place was clean and tidy, but management have a rigid adherence to archaic rules, as can be seen from the sign at the entrance to the restaurant and on tables - see photos."

"Excellent stay. The hotel has a lovely older grand appearance on the outside with modern rooms inside. We had a lovely stay here. The location is so convenient- right across from the train station and close to the cable cars for Mt TITLIS as well as Brunni. Breakfast was perfect- excellent selection of anything you could possibly want and displayed so nicely. The staff are so very helpful and sweet. We did eat at their restaurant, Yucatán and the food was so good. They had a live band outside one evening and it was a lovely environment to sit and enjoy the food and listen to some music. The area is just a wonderful place to hike and explore the mountains. Will definitely return!"

"Stayed for couple of nights at Hotel Spannot during Europe tour in June’24. The hotel is situated at a quiet marketplace at Engelberg and at a short distance from Mount Titlis. Rooms were moderate in size and was fitted with comfortable bed, wardrobe, chairs etc. Rooms had a tiny balcony with nice view of mountains and adjacent buildings. The washroom was clean and well maintained too. The room doors are opened through access code, which was informed beforehand. The staffs were friendly. The inhouse restaurant served decent breakfast. Overall, a comfortable stay at a scenic place."

"Thomas cook and Sotc both literally killed us by providing such hotel, where we have to walk long distance inside cave, then elevator then again walk in a cave then again walk some distance then elevator, saddest part is they give only one small trolley per fmly and we were 3 in a fmly so we literally had to drag our luggage this long distance, very frustrating and frightening experience for all 43 tourists in our coach. Thomas cook and Sotc are the culprits to choose such inconvenienent hotel. 3 nights were hell walking up and down to visit Mr. Titlis, Jungfraujoch etc. Such Tour operators discourage Tourists to visit again and are like back bitters for Tourism industry which are the backbone for any country, they play an important role of villain"
