Atlantica Grand Mediterraneo Resort - Adults Only

What a wonderful relaxing holiday. Just back after 10 sunny days. There is a genuine warmth about this hotel. The staff are kind and welcoming. Katrina and the reception staff are so very helpful and it’s no wonder people return year after year. They looked after our family of four incredibly well. Thank you. The beach is superbly looked after by Kostas who welcomes you, finds you a sun-bed and lays out your towel. He scans the beach at all times and is really helpful. It’s a lovely beach, pebbly but to the left is a sandy spot so it’s easier to enter the water. It gets deep fairly quickly. You can get the lift to the beach or walk. The view from the lift is lovely but I walked most times. The porters driving the buggies are friendly and helpful they wave and smile as they whizz people up and down to each accommodation level. Special thanks to George. You never wait long for a ride. Cassoudra was a wonderful fitness instructor ensuring that the classes were structured correctly and those attending were working to their abilities. It was a pleasure to work out with her on the beach and top platforms. She has a wonderful infectious energy and you can tell she loves her job. Enzo entertained my son playing table tennis and again was a lovely man. The food is really good quality. We were full board and had everything we needed and more. The fish and vegetarian dishes (especially the Giant Beans) I enjoyed immensely as well as the meat, salads, fresh fruit and desserts. I also got used to having soup as it was delicious! Cold water is provided for free at dinner and lunch. Hot drinks are served at your table at breakfast. The restaurant never felt overly congested. Again the staff serving and waiting were welcoming and polite, they were efficient without whisking about empty plates immediately. There are plenty of sun beds and spots to sunbathe around the pool. Everything is clean and tidy. A water cooler is on the far side to fill up if needed. The general manager is constantly surveying everyone’s areas and you can tell that he does a good job with the team of staff. We went by hotel bus into corfu town for half a day. It was quite expensive for 4 people €60 return. We didn’t pay an extra €40 for 4 to go up into the fortress. The town was ok, gift shops and cafes. The gardens area and old buildings along the coast up to the fortress are pretty. Wouldn’t rush back but that’s because shopping isn’t our thing. We hired a car for a day and went to the north of the island where we hired Fat Bikes from Corfufatbikes (check out trip advisor). Great fun and a lovely views. We also went to Porto Timoni (the dual beach). Treacherous walk down and up in the heat so not for everyone. We had a dip though and enjoyed it. Many people get the boat there avoiding the walk. The entertainment in the evenings was better than expected and extremely pleasant and chilled whilst playing cards. We are already talking about returning and we have never done that. Thanks again
