Whispering Waters

This hotel is in a beautiful setting, right on the river with an abundance of wildlife. Staff are very friendly and food is excellent. The pool area was very peaceful with plenty of sunbeds. Rooms are comfortable, although you need to turn on the immersion heater to get hot water. Only downside is there is no bar to bring your own drinks

The hotel is in a lovely position by the river and a quiet location reached by small roads through the rubber trees. Unless you have an upper floor room you cannot see the lovely view. The grounds are nice and the pool is good however there are not enough sun loungers. The rooms are basic but comfortable. I would say 3 star at best. The food at the evening buffet was good and plenty to choose from with a BBQ also. Ok for one night but not a place to be in for too long !

Based here for a few days doing a retreat, so our group has taken over the 20 rooms. The rooms are spacious, staff is friendly, and food is authentic. Have enjoy this place for its setting.

We recently did a family day-trip to the resort. We all had a lovely time. The day-booking included a large double room, unlimited use of facilities including swimming pool and a full buffet style lunch. Drinks (including beer) extra. Getting here is easy, especially as the roads now are mostly excellent - except for the final mile or so which is a bit bumpy. We reached around 11 AM. Checked into the room. The younger adults immediately changed into swimwear and jumped into the good sized & quite clean pool. Spent close to an hour splashing & horsing around, while the 'older' folks strolled or rested poolside. Then onto some beers and buffet Kerala style lunch. Food was decent. Spent rest of the day between the admittedly limited & kinda cramped (just carroms) indoor game-room, and the outdoor shuttle court. Left by early evening after a cup of tea. So .. do not expect a fancy resort; but it's certainly good value for the money. Well maintained; with very helpful staff. Food could be better. Do note: Though this resort is ***** the Periyar, one cannot easily walk up to its banks - blame the unfettered wild elephants situation and hence electric fencing to keep them out. I'm told it's a short mile trek to the 'Poru' park entrance. All in all, quite a nice experience. Well recommended, especially if you are already in the area.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night whilst touring Kerala. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, gorgeous views of the river where elephants go to bathe and drink. Unfortunately not in the short time that we were there but it was fun trying to spot them. The room was large, comfortable and clean, the food was delicious and generous. The staff were lovely, and very helpful. It was a shame that we were only there for one night as we really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed with my extended family for a night. We booked 7 rooms. The rooms were very spacious and well thought out. The bed is big and comfortable, the bath rooms are big and maintained. The a/c, tv and kettle were all working properly except in one room, which they temporary fixed. The rooms have extra chairs and sofas, the balcony is well furnished with a good view. The property is not large and has limited area for walking around. The pool is decent and well maintained. There is a small play area for kids. The staff is friendly and cooperative. There is no access to the river in front of the resort from the resort itself, since the rocky river can be tricky and dangerous. We had buffet lunch and dinner. The spread is limited by quality good. But I found it very odd that we were all required to take our used dishes and plates ourselves from our table and keep it at an area they designated. Maybe because it was due to a lack of staff, but usually the restaurant staff clear the plates from our tables once we are finished eating. All in all it was a decent stay and good break.

Nice friendly staff nice view from balcony bedroom was nice and shower never works so had a bucket and jug tap broken moved us to another room and restaurant,very nice big portions off food but do not hold alcohol in hotel they had to call somebody to bring a bottle of corona ‘ Nice pool BUT the gym was appalling big time

Its a calm and serenic place best for family getaways from city hustle. Enjoyed a 2 night stay Friendly staff and good service available. Has game rooms and play area for kids and adults. Also has a decent restaurant with good food ,it has a separate beer and wine parlor Common pool for both kids and adults is available , cellphone reception is bad in rooms.

A quiet spot to break away from a busy work schedule. Well-maintained infinity pool. Spacious rooms with all amenities and a big balcony facing the river and mountains. Barbeque can be done by ourselves or with the help of superb staff. Culinary expert Subin was an extraordinary companion too, effectively accessible all feast time and even at night for Barbeque Dinner to ensure that everything was great. For those who need an additional lift, they serve lager and wine as well.
