Pinc Lady Mansion

We booked a room at this place, but things got complicated around our reservation. Instead of letting us know beforehand, they hit us with extra charges when we arrived. The owner gave us two options: pay the additional fees or cancel with a full refund. We decided to cancel and find somewhere else to stay. Right after we cancelled, the owner refused to give us our money back—even though we had their promise in writing via text messages. It was obvious they never planned to actually refund us. Fair warning: Written confirmations and agreements don't mean much to these people. Learn from our mistake.

Find another place. My wife and I spent the night last night and were very unhappy with our experience. To begin, the house is beautiful. We were hoping to learn the history, but the owner never took the time to greet us, much less tell us about the house. Her son showed us to our room and told us her mother was unavailable at the moment. He told us we would meet her later. Never did. He told us we had a mini fridge in the room. The white box in the picture was the mini fridge. The bath towels were hand towels. Yup. Took a shower and had to use hand towels to dry our bodies. In the morning when we got up, there was no owner of anyone in the house to say anything to us. It was as if the house was vacant . There were toasters in the kitchen but nothing to put in them. There was a coffee maker, where we could make our individual cup of coffee, and that was it. We let ourselves out without ever laying eyes on anyone, and swore we would never return. Being a business owner, I know how important to be welcoming to your clientele. The owner of this property was anything but welcoming. It’s a shame because the property is so beautiful and could be something special with some changes.

When I saw this property, I knew I had to stay here! A beautiful pink Victorian home, what’s not to love. It was beautifully appointed and the host provided history for the property. My room was large and very comfortable. After walking around the downtown area of Eureka, I sat in the lovely turret area of my room and had a view of the mansion across the street and the water. I thought that the drawback would be the shared bathrooms but there are 2 very large delightful bathrooms and a half bath, so there were no issues during my stay. As this is a historic home, there were some rules that were no problem to comply with. A nice treat.

My husband and I are a little bit disappointed the fact that it’s a shared bathroom with others maybe because we are used of staying to a 4 or 5 star hotels.

Such a beautiful place to stay! Lots of history. Great location/views and very clean. Definitely recommend.
