Farlam Hall Hotel & Restaurant

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner, bed and breakfast stay to celebrate my birthday. The setting was peaceful, the food was excellent, the room was beautiful and the service was exceptional. Everything was first class and we forward to returning soon.

Had a fantastic 2 night gourmet stay and it was absolutely fantastic, hotel is set in wonderful grounds and location, service was exceptional from check in right through to check out. Food was amazing! The little hints of spices brought something different to the norm! Wine pairings went great and service was top notch with great attention to detail. Rooms were also great, high spec, clean and spacious(junior suite) Highly recommended!

Cosy classy country hotel with Michelin star fine dining and the loveliest attentive staff, without the pretentiousness. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, with modern decor, but still capturing its country house historic charm. The Molton Brown toiletries and Dyson hairdryer were well received. You can also fly in by helicopter. We had a two bed cottage which gave us the best of both worlds. We eat in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, but had the option to put our pjs on and watch tv as a family in the evening. We will be back. It’s perfect also for an intimate wedding or family gathering.

The room was very good and not too hot and very clean. The cedar tree restaurant food was excellent and you don't believe what you see, that is say that the restaurant at the beginning of the week was not excellent just a different way. You can only put what you want.

We had a marvelous one night stay at Farlam Hall as part of a mini break to visit the site on Hadrians Wall. The hotel itself was excellent . The public rooms were very comfortable and well appointed . The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and our room was light and airy and well furnished . We ate in the main restaurant and the food was absolutely first class. It was what you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant but the stand out feature was the spicing. It was subtle and by no means overpowering but you would have noticed if it was not there . We had the tasting menu and while all the courses were excellent , my favourite course was a lobster stew , the taste of which I will remember for a long time. The paired wine flight was also extremely good , with some unusual wines which I would never have thought of ordering from a wine list , including a Chinese Ice wine which was a perfect partner to the mango lime and coconut dessert . This Hotel is well worth a significant detour and I look forward to returning in the future

From start to finish, Farlam Hall makes you feel special, the bed was comfortable and the food was excellent with your own personalised menu. Nice relaxing stay with beautiful lounges and pretty grounds which are well managed. Zac, an 18 year old part time waiter was a star, even though this was not his chosen career ne was very professional, as where all the staff.
