Moonfleet Manor - A Luxury Family Hotel

My 90 year old mum had always wanted to go to Moonfleet Manor for a meal, so for VE Day we visited for afternoon tea. It was glorious!! Exactly the right amount of carefully cut, traditional sandwiches, exquisite cakes and the best scones I've ever tasted. No skimping on the jam and cream either! The absolute best item for my mum as a coffee drinker, a POT of coffee to go with her afternoon tea. I must add the staff were lovely too. Very courteous and friendly and we felt like we were very special people. Will definitely return for lunch or dinner. Well done Moonfleet!!

Stayed for a long weekend over May bank holiday. 1) Room was boiling hot with no air con and the fan was attached to the wall in a useless spot. I think we may have been above the kitchen. 2) No phone signal down by the coast there so very reliant on Wifi which was not useable. 3) The restaurant food was very poor value. 4) The TV controller had a Netflix button but Netflix was removed from the TV and it was not possible to add it back. Casting from a device didnt work either. 5) Service during the day if you are sat around the lounge areas was hit or miss. Most of the time if I needed service I felt like I needed to get out of my seat to order a drink or food. This would not be a problem if there was a bar area but I literally needed to ask staff that were cleaning to order food or drink. 6) Kids EVERYWHERE

Hidden little gem Third time staying at this lovely place and since the last time we stayed there they have spent loads making it fun for kinds no mater the weather.

Always try and start with a positive - rooms are nice and the views are stunning. However, for the price you pay - this hotel is a major let down. The service and food are dreadful and well below any standard in the service industry. No one wants to be surrounded, not only by unruly children, but also staff gossiping and putting out breakfast dishes etc whilst you're trying to eat (an expensive) dinner.The drinks are obscenely expensive and never stored at the appropriate temperature. The staff are chaotic and badly trained- at breakfast our plates were just taken without any word by a rather surly woman. The staff never knew who we were when we arrived for meals - constantly getting my name wrong. The rooms were never cleaned properly - the log burner wasn't cleaned and logs etc not replenished - we had to walk round to reception (phone never answered) and were given 2 small logs - ridiculous. The receptionist complained about having to do everything herself as not enough staff. Walking through the hotel - there is much need for more cleaning staff - plates from room service were piled up outside rooms and still there in the morning. Dogs & children are very welcome.e in this hotel - but if you're using this as your USP - then get cleaners to reflect the extra work that needs doing. Lovely building but overpriced- would make a complaint directly to the management and at the very least request some form of compensation - but no one ever answers the phone and the only email listed is for reservations. There is a theme amongst the dissatisfied customers that the management should acknowledge - the food is awful and the serving staff need training!

What a wonderful time we had at Moonfleet Manor. As a family we found it superb with lots of things to do, especially for our 7 year old son who had an absolute blast. The games room was very popular as was the children’s cinema time. Food was good and the room was absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of the Fleet.

Being my first trip away with me and my baby I wanted to go somewhere that I knew would cater to children and this did not disappoint The rooms are modern and really spacious. The first night I had issues with my shower and then following day I was given a new room with an upgrade. The room was huge! The hotel provide everything you need for a baby including cot, changing equipment, high chairs, buggy, childcare (I didn’t use this so can’t comment on how it was) and much more. The food was ok the pricey side but really tasty. One night my son was sleeping so they just deliver the food to your room instead. There was also a huge play den with so many activities for kids as well. P The staff were really helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely, I was the only one in it. It was so nice I ended up staying for an extra night. I couldn’t have asked for a better first trip for me and my son. Would highly recommend.
