The service was fantastic. All the staff were so lovely and friendly. The food was delicious. 100% will see me again! Stayed for some drinks afterwards with my friends to carry on the night. If you haven’t already been, I highly recommend going especially in the evening.

Wanted to have drinks on the terrace but despite plenty of non reserved tables available was told that we could only have drinks if we ordered food. This business has recently reopened again and we we very surprised that they would turn away custom at 5 pm on a Sunday in October. We walked in into sandgate to another establishment that was happy to accept our custom.

Location is wonderful although parking extremely difficult so expect to walk a fair distance. The service is excellent. Helpful, polite and efficient. The food was a huge disappointment. Who serves a slice of bread from a nasty cheap white sliced loaf with prawns? The prawns were good although there were only four in the dish. The chilli sauce tasted as if it were straight out of a jar, glutinous and artificial. My whitebait was breaded, over cooked in a deep fryer. It was off but not the fresh battered generous portion expected. Tartare sauce not homemade and served with an ice cold white bread roll. Main course. Chips were soggy, undercooked, some kind of unpleasant oven chips. The fish burger was tasteless greasy cod between a stale burger bun. Why not serve a fish finger sandwich on fresh bloomer or tiger loaf with fresh cod, breaded and homemade tarter sauce? The mussles were delicious and had they come with warm, decent bead would have been perfect. Definitely would return but just for drinks. Food needs refinement. It all felt a little “common” and not quite right.
