Relax inside or on the patio w amazing sunsets! Further adding to the unique vibe of this house is the fact that there is no front door… Well there is, but it’s on the back side facing the pond. This house was designed by and built for a psychiatrist in 1972…. with a hangover from the 60’s. She used this place as her office and residence; and she wanted all her patients to experience the relaxing tranquil pond view when entering the office so they had to walk around the back to gain entry. (no worries for you lazy types-- the garage door on the front of the house gets you in directly to the kitchen). With a huge living room facing the pond you can relax inside with AC, or outside in the back yard feeling the breeze lull off the pond. The 2 bedrooms and the couch-bed in living room nook can sleep 6 heartbeats. Master bedroom has a King bed; Second bedroom has a Queen, and the sleeping nook off the living room has a twin /trundle pull out. Kitchen and bath are spacious and still sport the retro chic yellow countertops from the 1970’s. So you will be chillin’ in a vintage classic. Your enclosed garage is a great place to safely store surfboards and bikes. And with a 1 minute walk to the best beach access on Folly this place delivers true island feel. Because at 13th St East Access there is no car parking, just a path through the oaks and palms and vines – so you feel like you could be on the movie set of Blue Lagoon, Swiss Family Robinson, or even Gilligan’s Island…Let your daydreams wander as you come out of the shade and onto the beach. But just be prepared to have them analyzed back at the office…errr Sunset Shack. With the outdoor shower you can rinse the salt and sand away before grilling to the max on your private patio with a gas grill. You now have the chance to add to the rich tapestry of happily psychotic beachlovers who have drifted through this house. Whether you are doing group therapy on the beach or putting the kids in strait jackets for some much needed ME- time we know the SUNSET SHACK will enhance your mental health. And lastly, to prevent your pets from having psychotic nightmares, we ask that you scoop all poop using the handy bags we provide. And now for the legal –type stuff: The home is located in a quiet residential section of Folly Beach and we do not allow parties or events. So you if you want a house party don’t book here. Folly has strict noise ordinance rules and is really cracking down with fines. Residential District QUIET HOURS are from 10pm-9am with no loud voices or amplified music inside or out. Sunset Shack allows a maximum of 6 guests with 2 off street parking spaces and is strictly NON SMOKING. If you bring pets- We require $200 Non Refundable Pet Fee. All guests must sign our standard 2-Page South Carolina Short Term Rental Agreement which includes all the house and Folly Beach rules. We strongly recommend guests purchase TRIP INSURANCE which can protect you from last minute travel changes due to health, family, weather, or employment issues..…Look forward to hosting you soon!
