The Ashbrook Hotel

My wife and I decided to stay in Frankfort because the Kentucky Genealogy Library is there. But unfortunately the day we arrived it was closed. Oh well. We chose the Ashford because it looked nice and quaint. What we did not realize is that the hotel is currently unstaffed, so we were completely on our own to figure things out. They did send us a code for the door to both the main entrance and our room. All well and good there. Our room was spacious but cold because the hotel was not being heated. There was a heater in the bathroom, which we did turn on. But it only provided a modicum of heat. The bathroom was also spacious and had a very nice shower, which we took advantage of. We used the Keurig in the room for coffee. Unfortunately we did not find the Wi-Fi password, which was on a small card on the coffee cart, until the end of our stay. We had a long drive ahead of us, so we left early to get a jump on the day. We had one Kerfuffle with our room bill. There was an upgrade charge to our room, which was never mentioned in our booking. I challenged that extra charge and it was eventually removed, but it took several days to resolve. Quite aggravating. On the positive side, the location is good. Parking is adequate. Other than one other person, we were the only quests staying here. Very quiet.
