"I stayed at Hotel Kagetsu in Takayu Onsen. The exterior of the building makes you feel like you're in a mountain lodge. Inside, there is a large lobby, which is very relaxing. The staff are very kind and friendly. The rooms are spacious and you can relax. I like the Japanese-style rooms. I like the tatami mats because they have a nostalgic feel to them. It's nice that you can see the autumn leaves from your room at this time of year. The bath is divided into an open-air bath and a large bath. You can take a bath while looking outside. I think it's nice to take a bath while looking at the autumn leaves at this time of year. The hot spring is sulfurous, and it's very nice. Dinner was quite luxurious. It was good that there were many different types of appetizers. This is a good Japanese snack. There were taro, chestnuts, grated yam, etc. The sashimi was also good, with tuna and shiitake mushrooms. I was happy with the matsutake earthenware pot. It had a good aroma. The ingredients inside were also good. The pork stewed Alsace-style had a strong pork presence and was filling. The beef soba miso grilled on a magnolia leaf was soft and had a strong miso flavor, making it easy to eat. It also went well with rice. It was a delicious dish that went well with sake. The breakfast was purely Japanese, and felt like a hotel breakfast. The salmon was also delicious, and went down well with the rice. I had two and a half bowls. The squid carrot and hot springs* were also delicious. It was a good side dish to eat with rice. It was only one night, but I had a relaxing time. It was a happy time. It's important to take a vacation and travel. I want to go again."

"Personally, I didn’t enjoy this hotel very much, as it felt a bit old and somewhat eerie — especially when I checked in at midnight and had to do laundry alone, haha. That said, I wouldn’t say it’s a bad choice overall. The location is excellent — just a 2–3 minute walk from Fukushima Station — and the room rates are very reasonable. Getting a single room for around SGD 50 is a rare find in major cities like Tokyo or Osaka. For travelers looking for a short stay or a convenient stopover before heading to Yamagata, this hotel is definitely a solid option."

"The hotel is located at the highland so the view looking down to the Fukushima city is amazing, esp during the night time. The staff service is very caring too. Every staff always has a smiley face. The room we reserved is a bit dated. However all other facilities in the hotel are very clean, neat l, well decorated and pretty new too. The Onsen areas are clean and modern too. The food is surprisingly tasty. I truly enjoyed my stay."
