Kinan Retreat

We were picked up at the Velana airport after an overnight stay at the local island, with transfer fee of $40 USD per person to take the speedboat to Fulidhoo, where Kinan Retreat is at. After alighting from the jetty at Fulidhoo, it's a short 5 mins walk to the Retreat. Welcome drinks and hot hand towels were offered. We missed the morning excursion trip but decided to go for it the next day. The room provided can have an extra bed for $15 USD. Fulidhoo is a small local island but it's the favorite hangout for stingrays and nurse sharks. You will be able to spot these lovely creatures around the shore, especially near evening time when there are people who start feeding them. You will be able to get up close and even touch them, but with caution. We went on an evening fishing trip that cost $45 USD per person, inclusive of a BBQ dinner for the dishes that were caught. On the next day before leaving for our resort island stay, we took the excursion trip to see dolphins, snorkeling with nurse sharks at SharkPoint and went turtle spotting, all these for $40 USD per person. Underwater videos were captured and shared by WhatsApp. Great service by the counter lady Shahidah. I will recommend this Retreat to visitors, and you will not be disappointed with the time spent on the island.

This was the place where we want to come back. Clean rooms, amazing pillows! And helpful staff with smiles. Breakfast and dinner was on spot with traditional Maldivan dishes on Fridays with tables by the shore if weather was good. Can’t recommend more!

I was lucky enough to come across this hotel: the staff are simply incredible and very welcoming. Faysal and Chahida take wonderful care of details and guests. The organization is impeccable, and the staff are extremely friendly. Room cleaning is perfect, with bottles of water replaced in the fridge every day, and towels impeccably clean and pleasantly scented. The Kinan hotel offers a magnificent view of the sea. The organization of activities is excellent, with attentive staff who adapt schedules to suit the weather and the group. A variety of quality excursions! Just amazing If you're looking for peace and quiet and want to spend a holiday with a staff that's as friendly as it is professional, I highly recommend Kinan Retreat. You'll be in good hands. Wonderful hotel right on beach a fantastic alternative to the expensive resort. If you can cope without alcohol then this is a fantastic place to stay on this paradise island. The stingrays and nurse sharks come right up by the sea shore very safe . Beautiful beaches most bikini beaches if not all .small little restaurants dotted around serving good food at reasonable prices. The kirnan retreat did a good breakfast and when weather allows tables on the beach for your evening meal . Can't praise this hotel and island enough
