I have never met such a service minded and kind staff anywhere before. They always greeted me by my first name, offered safe and homely atmosphere in the most traditional and cozy Bavarian guesthouse. Since I cannot eat gluten, the «mother» of the house woke up early to bake the most wonderful and tasty gluten free buns. In the evening, they offered traditional food and drinks while listening to yodel and watching Schuhplatter. The location was perfect in the center of Partenkirchen with short way to both town centers and the Alps. I highly recommend the place. It feels like family and home here.

I wanted to like this place and I gave it a try in spite of some of the bad reviews (I also like to support local businesses). I’m not one to complain or leave bad reviews but there are a few things to be aware of if considering this place. Finding where to check in was an issue. Apparently you walk into a restaurant to check in. The restaurant was dark and the door was closed. There were no instructions on the outside of the building as to where to go. The other option was a dark corridor that was what I assume, a smoking area. During check in the older woman asked if we wanted breakfast in the morning (an additional 27 euros each). I told her not tomorrow but maybe sometime during our stay. She chased us out into the parking area to ask about breakfast again stating that I didn’t tell her. My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. The stay itself was fine. The view was beautiful but the room was tiny, no coffee maker in the room and overall a tired, old building. Upon checkout (and this is where it gets good) the same older woman gave me a bill for an additional 124 euros because she said my reservation was only for one person and I had two. I told her it wasn’t specified when I made my reservation (*******). She was very rude and said “this is what I’m telling you”. I explained that I rented a ROOM and nowhere did I have to indicate how many guests and the room was for two people (no more would’ve fit, it was TINY). I explained that I chose this hotel based on value and said if I’d have known that it was going to be so much more, I would have picked a different place. I said I was happy to pay for parking and city tax but had an issue with the additional person charge. She got defiant and said “this is what I’m telling you!!!”. I felt like I was getting bullied into paying extra. She was obviously angry that I questioned the charge. She threw her hands up and walked away. I have no idea where she went. I waited several minutes and even called out so I could get this resolved but she never returned. Think carefully before booking this hotel. There’s better ones out there.

The room was perfect - very comfortable bed, loads of space, nice view, big bathroom. We had several meals here and each one of them was delicious. Particular mention goes to the schnitzel and their deserts! Their beer, wine, spirits and liqueur selection left nothing to be desired, but their homemade cider "der most" was utterly delightful - dry and crisp and perfectly refreshing. Be warned, it doesn't feel strong til you stand after your third glass. Service was friendly, helpful and I never felt like I had to wait for attention. Food was brought out promptly. Cost for the rooms was excellent value. Food and drink were excellent value too for excellent quality. If I could give this place 7 stars out of 5, I would! I'd recommend Kirchenwirt Fraundorfer to anyone even thinking about visiting Austria.

This family owned buisness is located in a unique and beautiful part of town. The family were very friendly and helpful. Parking is a challenge and cleaning staff could be improved. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay and the food was very good.

We enjoyed our stay; we had a lovely view of the mountains. The street outside was lovely, although a little noisy at times. The room was small for what we paid, but that seems to be the going rate in this part of the world!
