Kalipay Resort Siargao

what happened to us at this hotel is terrible! instead of enjoying but sadness happened! we left the hotel to go on a land tour, we left the money in our suitcase, housekeeping came in to clean our rooms. it took an hour. They were the last to enter the room, we asked them to review the cctv, but they denied it. housekeeping that's 1 hour hanging out at the hotel! The owner even covered up their staff. so it's not safe in the hotel. there was a thief, we wondered why housekeeping took an hour but in another room they only took 30 minutes. and they didn't change the bedings, they didn't fix the cleaning but it took an hour. We didn't see anyone else on the cctv when they came in last time. We went to the police and they made a blotter and their statement was different. The hotel is okay, clean and beautiful. but from their house keeping staff we know that they lied, their statements to the police were different

Couldn't fault Kalipay! The magic of the stay was in the details, from the distilled water cooler in the room to the bag to take island hopping to the choice of pillows. Despite being in a prime location in the centre of the action, the hotel is a little oasis of calm and the pool and garden are lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I felt safe and welcomed as a solo traveller. Would definitely recommend!

Está ubicado en el corazon de General Luna. Sus habitaciones que no son muchas, se destacan mas por ser un departamento monoambiente que una simple habitacion. Es decir, cuenta con heladera (grande), bidon de agua potable para tomar libre, sillon, mesa, pava electrica, botellas reutilizablds, television, balcon y todo lo que se te ocurra para poder disfrutar de tu estancia allí. Tambien en recepcion tienen juegos de mesa y cartas para ofrecerte totalmente gratis, que te serán de utilidad ante los eventuales chaparrones de algunas poquitas horas que suceden en Siargao. El staff del hotel es super amable y servicial. Ellos mismos tambien te alquilan moto y bicicleta, tours y traslados desde y hasta el aeropuerto. Hacen TODO bien!!! En la habitacion, tienes a tu disposicion un cuaderno con toda la informacion necesaria sobre Siargao. Los mejores restaurantes, bares, tours, atracciones, etc. Muy recomendable darle una mirada a ese cuaderno. Es de mucha ayuda. Tiene una pileta chica, pero super acorde a lo que es el hotel. El ambiente es muy tranquilo y relajado aqui. Estás muy cerca de todo a pie, pero te recomendamos alquilar algun medio de transporte y estarás siempre en contacto con todos los bares y restaurantes que tienen cerca. Experiencia hermosa en Siargao, una isla que nos encantó! Y mas aún habiendonos hospedado en Kalipay. Gracias por todo! Esperamos volver. Saludos desde Argentina 🙂

Kalipay was in the best location ever, yet also like a sanctuary of peace! It helped that there weren’t too many guests when we were there too (as we were just at the beginning of the season). The staff were absolutely lovely and helped us book all of our motorbikes, transfers & surf lessons. We had the reception number on WhatsApp so if our plans changed we could easily contact them to help us - honestly, it took all the faff out of the holiday and meant we could really enjoy ourselves. The room was gorgeous and so big for 2 people! Great shower, air con or a ceiling fan, super comfy bed (if you prefer a slightly harder memory foam feel) & complimentary drinking water and tea. There was also a mini fridge of snacks which you did need to pay extra for but we enjoyed this to have a sweet treat post dinner! There are great drink / dinner options within a 2 minute walk, or 5 minute motorbike ride. We would recommend CEV for amazing ceviche (we went twice) & Goodies did a great cocktail. We also ate breakfast and lunch at Kalipay once and enjoyed both meals. Thank you so much to the Kalipay team - we’d come back in a heartbeat! Emma & Ed

I would really recommend this small and well-appointed resort at the northern end of General Luna. The rooms are generously sized and have numerous small and considerate touches to improve your stay. Staff are really helpful and friendly. The bed is comfortable, the room is dark for sleeping, abundant drinking water provided, hot water for showers, etc etc. the pool is lovely as is the garden. It’s an easy walk to four or five good restaurants and a short motorbike ride to the rest of General Luna and cloud 9. Kalipay is a really peaceful oasis, we only wish we had stayed here longer. We would definitely return.
