If you believe the traditional music reviews, think again. Good pub, good food, but no longer delivering live music. Only interested in MONEY. Fair enough but don’t expect the best. There’s better out there. Will suffer for short sightedness. Staff were good, but could now suffer.

What a great pub! After a rainy ramble around the city, a dram and some pub grub was just the ticket. Service: excellent. Food: very good. After many years traveling - and eating - in Scotland, I should know better than to order a salad - especially in a pub. My Caesar salad was disappointing, but the ambience, the service, and the company made up for it. And my companions very much enjoyed their traditional Scottish fare: haggis, tatties, and neeps and Cullen skink.

We visited today for lunch. While the service remained friendly and the staff polite upon our arrival, our experience was unfortunately marred by several disappointments, primarily regarding the food quality. To start, the pricing felt steep for a casual lunch setting. A pint of Guinness was £5.70, and a glass of Pinot was £6. Although the front-of-house team was courteous, we were not checked on after our food was served, which left little opportunity to address our concerns in real-time. The food itself was exceedingly underwhelming. I ordered the fish supper, which arrived with a strong taste of stale cooking oil, suggesting it had not been cooked at the correct temperature, resulting in a greasy and unpleasant dish. I returned it to the kitchen and opted not to reorder. My wife’s haggis bonbons were also disappointing, arriving dry and lacking flavour. Although the Cajun fries had vibrant seasoning, they carried the same old oil aftertaste as my meal. The highlight was my son’s chicken and leek pie, which he enjoyed and appeared to be the only dish meeting our expected standard. To the manager’s credit, a complimentary drink was offered to make amends. However, given the overall experience, I declined it. We have always enjoyed visiting this pub for its atmosphere and service. Still, based on this visit, I would not recommend it for dining.

So glad we found this place on a short visit to wonderful Glasgow. We'll be back. Two nights stay in Glasgow and found Babbity on the first. So we came the second night just to see if it was still as good. And it was. See you again soon and perhaps take a room.

We stopped by here for a pint and some food. The bartender and waiters were very friendly. We had their steak pie and it was one of the best I've had in Glasgow. The drink selection was great as well. Prices a bit higher than expected, but nothing terrible. Overall a good experience and will visit again.

My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite and a pint after arriving in Glasgow. The staff were very attentive, the food was great if you're after a native dish like haggis, neeps, and taties, and there were plenty of quality beers on offer. I also liked all the funny quips on the menu. Solid recommend!

Great vibe and cool jazz set. We called in for drinks and snacks and were lucky to be in on the right Sunday for the Jazz session 2-5 on second Sunday of the month. Super beer selection, tasty snacks (croquettes and Cajun fries) and the staff were lovely too.

The location of Babbity's is perfect right in the heart of Merchant City in Glasgow. The accommodation is spotless, and the staff are super great with nothing being too much trouble. Small attention to detail, such as the breakfast and how it is served, all play a huge part in making this a must stay for the City of Glasgow.
