Since it was difficult to find accommodation in Hay, we stopped at this enchanted little town. The motel is conveniently located and the rooms are sparkly clean. The beds are comfortable. The furnishings are basic but functional (only the sink needs a little "getting used to") A good Breakfast can be had at the road house next door (open from 5am to 9pm) Dinner is good at the pub, one house further on - fun to visit... good beer, too. I'd stop here again any time and I thank all the friendly people of Goolgowi for the hospitality I experienced.

Only stayed here because the other motel was booked out. Not a great place to stay, too many signs telling you what not to do, threats to charge your account if you don't abide by the rules. Poor service from the start, noisy aircon, 'hot' water was tepid at best although supposed to be a new system. No outside light for room so difficult to unpack the car in the dark. Don't reverse park and keep lights off when leaving car park. Better to book early at the motel next to the Royal Mail Hotel.

What a little beauty, fabulous meal, great staff, good value!!! 💖💖💖 Would recommend this place for anyone who wants to stop for a great meal and service. Support the small towns that are struggling 👍

Be careful that you don't break any of their many rules. or they will bill your credit card. I got charged $100 for using less than $3 of electricity. They are clearly have a great fear of energy use. The fridge was set to such a high temperature that you can't freeze an iceblock or keep food cold. Not sure what the policy is about heating. I didn't need to fortunately. The whole place is old and inadequate. I will not stop in Goolgowi next time.

Please don't make the same mistake we made after we left I got a message they are charging me $100 for the mattress being wet on one end. Looking through the reviews it seams they charge a lot of people extra for no reason sounds like a money grab.
