La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Grand Junction

The room was really big and I like that.It had a free breakfast.It was the perfect place to stay when just passing through definitely better than some of the comparable hotels in that area

The lobby was clean and breakfast was good. Couldn't swim in the pool due to thick layer of green algae all the way around it as well as a general cloudiness to the water. Didn't even bother with the hot tub after that. Despite a complaint at the front desk on the first day of the trip, the pool was still left unattended to the entire stay. With temperatures reaching 90+ degrees daily, the pool was something the whole family was looking forward to. The room had some broken things, a musky smell, and grime and dust built up in hidden areas, as well as torn up and stained carpet. General cleaning was done decently but they need to make sure they are replacing broken things and cleaning behind "permanent" furniture. Also carpet stains are gross, I did not want my toddler playing on the floor so I had to have a blanket down the whole stay. All in all it was clean enough to sleep in for a few nights, but we almost checked out and went somewhere else and honestly if it was any worse we would have. Kind of sad because we stay in this hotel for this trip once per year and it has always been reliable up until this year. I am debating on finding another option for next years trip.

Beware of the highway traffic noise. We couldn’t sleep and checked out at 5:30 am and left. Room was very nice though. Room was very nice, looks remodeled. Sofa sleeper was horrible, mattress very thin.

The bed was a bit harder than I liked but ok. The vent in the bathroom wasn’t working but wasn’t crucial. The guy in the next room turned up his TV at 4 am which not appreciated, apparently he thinks he was the only one in the hotel so the room walls were not as insulated as they could have been.

I struggled between a low 5 and a high 4 rating. This is a very nice hotel and our second or third stay here, but it fell a bit short in just a couple of ways. The good - first. Good room lighting. The best recliner reading chair in any hotel room - ever. Good quality towels and linens. Spacious room. Nice shower. Decent, if not overwhelming, breakfast. Good bed reading lights. Good sound deadening between rooms. Rooms on back side of hotel (away from I-70) have no interstate noise. Not so good (and these are - admittedly - rather picky in some cases.) Mpost importantly are the really crummy pillows. We both remarked on them. They were lumpy and clumpy and seemed, well, old. Less importantly, the bed in our room (305) is getting a bit past its 'use by' date - just a little soft and uneven. We slept pretty well - could have been better. While the breakfast offerings were typical chain hotel (but hot and abundant) it would have been nice to extend it until at least 9:30, particularly on weekends (rather than cutting it off RIGHT at nine)_. Finally, the lowest toilet in the world with a loose seat. Just to make it clear, we travel to GJ regularly and have stayed in a number of different hotels. This is definitely our choice and we definitely will be back, albeit with our own pillows from home.

This hotel was wonderful. We were on a road trip and had just come from a luxury hotel stay in CA and were just crashing here for the night, but it was just as nice and had a way better breakfast than the ridiculously expensive hotel we had just stayed at the night prior. HIGHLY recommend.
