Long weekend Lovely stay here as we were attending a wedding. The owner Cooki is very warm and friendly. Breakfast is lovely. Hot shower with plenty of towels available. The grounds are plentiful. Pool looks good although we didn’t use it. House is full of old French charm. Overall a great stay. Small criticism. Our room was en-suite.. however we had to exit our room to a corridor to access it. Not always handy with other guests. No aircon but maybe was never advertised. So our fault for not checking. This is a family home also and there are comings and goings of the family. Adds to the charm if you don’t mind that. Would recommend. You definitely need a car. Would we come back ? YES

An amazing stay

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour around Europe and honestly words cannot describe the beauty of the place, it is stunning. On arrival we were met by Gucky, the owner, who is a truly welcoming host. Our room was simply beautiful and opened on to a beautiful terrace, complete with sun loungers and a table and chairs, where breakfast is served weather permitting (which is was), Gucky is clearly an avid art fan as beautiful artistic touches adorned the whole place. The garden is truly something else, and Gucky maintains the it herself. It is huge, and the plants, trees and shrubs have to be seen to be believed. There is a beautiful walk along the canal, which is accessed from the rear gate of the hotel. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh breads, croissants, cheeses, jams, etc all of which Gucky presented beautifully The views from the terrace are amazing and although Il Monticello is a mere 15 minute drive to the centre of Cannes, when you're there, you really feel as though you are a million miles from the closest town, as you are surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen, Thank you Gucky for a stay we shall cherish

We had the most wonderful stay. Fantastic view and location, and a really nice hostess. Would love to stay here again.

We stayed here four nights at the beginning of our 21-day trip in southeast France, then went back for three more nights near the end of our trip because we missed it. Our host Gucky is an extremely thoughtful person. We felt she treated us like family, offering to help us with lots of things you might not expect a hotel host to worry about. Unbelievably generous, attentive, and hard-working. The house itself is very charming and well decorated, with cool art and other fine touches. I used the pool only once because we were busy with other things, but it was perfect. We also enjoyed meeting and chatting with other guests, all of whom were kind and interesting. A great stay!

Wir sind zum 3.Mal hier und kommen hoffentlich noch viele Male wieder. Gucky und Patrice sind einfach sehr sehr herzliche Gastgeber und es fühlt sich an wie heimkommen. Ein liebevolles gutes französisches Frühstück mit leckeren Croissant oder pain au chocolat, ein wunderschöner Garten, Terrasse vorne , lauschige Plätze hinter dem schönen Steinhaus, ein schöner Pool zum Entspannen, schöne Bergdörfer, leckere, feine Restaurants mit Empfehlung von Patrice…s‘avoir vivre eben.
