All the modern conveniences in a rural setting.The cabin is a traditional full dovetail Appalachian cabin constructed of white pine. The cabin is around 600 ft.² with a full bathroom, full kitchen/dining area, loft bedroom area. The structure has a covered vaulted front porch and rear porch. There are many amenities to make the guest feel more at home Including towels, linens for the beds, soap/shampoo, cooking utensils, pots/pans and anything else you would need for cooking a good meal. We have a Weber kettle grill on the back porch for grilling out as well. In addition, we provide complementary coffee and a bundle of firewood for the outdoor pit.The cabin is located in a beautiful spot at approximately 4000 feet elevation. Due to the elevation, temperatures are typically much cooler than the surrounding areas. It is recommended to bring a jacket even in the warmer months. Due to the close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park, you may occasionally see a wild pony wondering to the property. There’s bountiful wildlife around the property including deer, turkey, many bird species and the occasional bear.The road to the cabin is a state maintained gravel road. Although a 2wd car/truck will work fine, we recommend a 4wd if possible due to the steep nature of the road. Brand new construction. It is at the top of a mountain overlooking the historic New River. This cabin has everything you would ever want in a vacation rental. It has an open-concept kitchen with access to the front deck for beautiful countryside, mountain views, as well gorgeous views of the river. So close you can hear the river right from the front deck. The kitchen is also fully stocked with brand new stainless steel appliances, ready to accommodate any size family's cooking needs. We provide trash bags, paper towels, and dishwasher tabs. We have a crock pot, coffee maker, blender, outside griddle, and much much more for all your cooking needs. The kitchen is open into the living room with comfortable seating for all guests. The couch is a Serta mattress couch that turns into a full-size queen bed with a head that elevates. Can be used for extra guests or just lounging around and watching movies. We have ceramic tile that looks like wood throughout the rental which gives it that real home feel. The house is equipped with 2 full-size bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, with direct access to the hot tub just outside the deck door. We have towels for the hot tub and a Bluetooth speaker available for use with the hot tub. It also has a 55-inch TV with Direct TV hookup and Netflix available on a smart TV. The other bedroom features a full-sized bed with a trundle tucked away underneath. The Riverview Cabin has entertainment for all including a 55-inch TV with access to Direct TV and Netflix on a smart TV, card games board games, and a few books available. For those that are into hiking a trail leading down to the creek or a long gravel driveway down to the creek is available. Sit by the creek enjoy the sounds of nature and watch the small fish swim around. We have wild turkeys and deer that are around the cabin for your viewing pleasure. Let the kids take a splash into the creek and enjoy the clean mountain water. Drive 35 minutes to Galax and enjoy more trails, the Old Time Fiddlers Convention in August, Smoke on the Mountain in July, or just go enjoy the main street shops. In this little town you can enjoy many of their yearly festivals as well as eat at the Snappy Lunch where Andy himself frequented. Drive a little further and visit Boone NC, Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock or Grandfather Mountain near Linville.
