Wine Resort la Ghirlanda

Een fantastisch kleinschalig hotel . We maakten een trip in umbrië en dit hotel heeft ons het meest bekoord. Het personeel was supervriendelijk. We werden uitgebreid verwelkomd in het Nederlands. Onze kamer Barbara super gezellig. Het uitzicht op de heuvels fantastisch. Ook vonden we de maaltijden zeer verzorgd. Bij het ontbijt werden alle ingrediënten op een zeer mooie manier uitgestald. De kwaliteit was ook hoog. Zo waren er verse frambozen , bramen en bosbessen voor bij de yohurt. S ' avonds is er 1 menu voor alle gasten bestaande uit 4 gerechten. Het zwembad is mooi geïntegreerd en was voldoende warm. De locatie combineert Engelse stijl met Italiaanse klasse. Kortom wij komen terug.

The views over the valley are breathtaking. Dinner was super delicious but maybe a bit too much food. A nice selection of wines from their estate. Breakfast was served on the outdoor patio on a beautiful spring morning.

After spending several holidays in Tuscany we decided to give Umbria a go and La Ghrilanda looked like a perfect fit for a quiet trip. We found it to be a very quiet place with within relatively easy driving distance to other towns and villages. There were few sounds other than nature itself to interfere with your time. We booked a room in a separate building made up of two units that quite what we'd expected as it was rather small with little place to set our luggage and still move around. After three nights and visiting most of the surrounding towns ~ Spello, Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia, Deruta, Montefalco, Foligno and a few others decided to move on even though we had paid for seven days. I think that if we'd stayed in the main building we might have stayed longer but it all worked out well. We did not get back any of our money as we checked out early of our own accord which is understandable. All the staff were very personable and helpful with any requests from check in to departure. The atmosphere is very casual which makes for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were really good with a wide selection of foods ~ no need to go hungry at all! The evening meals which needed to be reserved ahead of time were exceptional. Probably the best, truly Italian meal, I've ever had and the service again, was really great. The grounds are well kept but you know you are in the country which is to be expected as it is an agriturisomo. Would I stay again ~ yes, but as mentioned, it would have to be a room in the main building.

Our visit was amazing!!! The place is so beautiful and our rooms were so comfortable and the FOOD - wow, so elegant yet casual. Everything about our stay was perfect!!! The views were stunning and the staff went out of their way to make our visit so special!!!

My daughter chose La Ghirlanda as somewhere Dad would like to celebrate a 'big birthday'. She chose well. It is lovely country hotel (former hunting lodge) with traditional period decor. The views across the valley and to nearby Saragano are to die for. The breakfasts bountiful and the dinners splendid occasions. The hospitality and efficiency of the obliging staff was about the best I have encountered. A great bunch of people. Going on the cookery course and winetasting (all adjacent) as well as the freedom to walk through the olive groves and vineyards means we got a real feel for the area and the way of life.

La pace tra le colline umbre. La Ghirlanda e’ un luogo carino e accogliente. C’e la villa centrale e le dependance. Quest’ultime un po’ spartane ma funzionali. Si dorme molto bene perche l’unico rumore sono i grilli. Colazione di buon livello, carina la piscina. Insomma il rapporto qualita prezzo e’ buono
