Verandah Motel

Booked back in July which would give the illusion you would actually get the room you have booked. Unfortunately was called two weeks before arriving that they were no longer able to accommodate us in the Cottage due to a “medical issue”, so we agreed and settled to move into two queen rooms instead. Fast forward when arriving at 9pm after a long day of driving and flights and more driving, with two children, we were surprised to find that we were given one room to share, which was so small my face in the double bed was inches away from my sons feet…. Not to mention my daughter had to sleep on the floor with a make do pillow bed, which we only got after calling reception and the after hour number multiple times as no one was anywhere to be seen. The customer service was no existent, and although the women verbal apologised for the mishandling of the situation, she did it with eyes rolling and a tone you would hear from someone lobotomised. There is more I could add in, but it is what it is… definitely would NOT recommend:

We did not check in till late, the booking process was easy and the key was labelled on window and waiting for us, the room had the lights on for us.This motel was fantastic to stay in,very clean, comfortable bed, modern decor with lots of homely touches in it. The staff are very pleasant and easy to deal with ,will be staying here again on my travels through Gympie.

very clean and tidy refurbished motel, there is tea and coffee plus biscuits provided, very modern bathroom in my unit, there is a convenience store not far from the motel if you need food the only thing i felt was weird when i arrived my key was taped to the reception window at no time did i see anyone, thank goodness for fellow Travellers also staying there who gave me directions for where i wanted to go, i usually ask reception at places i stay at for information

Managed to receive an upgrade to the cottage at this hotel and believe me it was a welcome relief. After two weeks on the road, this was a welcome surprise. Nice and big which easily sleeps 5, with a nice colonial feel about it. Comfortable beds and a great location if you're going on the Mary Valley Rattler. Thank you to management, the cottage was fantastic.

I stayed overnight in the family room with my 85 year old Mother who has some mobility issues. Right from booking through to check out the staff where just so helpful and friendly. The room was really quiet and comfortable with a great bathroom. All very clean with nice beds. Definitely where I will be staying when I next need a motel room in Gympie. Highly recommend.

Second visit here. First time solo prior to riding the rail trail with 5 others. Again more recently on an overnight in Gympie with my wife. Both times clean, tidy and well presented. Love the way the bathroom gets the morning sun and in the afternoon it comes in the front door.
