Bed & Breakfast Hotel Malts

Henk and Annemarie are fantastic hosts responding very quickly to any questions we had even before our arrival. The hotel and rooms (very good size) are both modern and classsic at the same time. If needed, there is a breakfast room that is open all day after breakfast where one can enjoy a tea/coffee or even your lunch, snack, dinner with an honor bar. Henk is very thorough in his explanation of the area attractions of Haarlem when you first arrive. The hotel is an easy walk to the train station and it is a quick train ride into Amsterdam. We loved being in Haarlem. It still has a city vibe but smaller and closer to the tulips which were the main reason for our visit. We were also so thankful after a long flight to be able to have our room ready even earlier than the check-in time. Yes, as someone mentioned in an earlier review there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the first floor and thankfully Hank is there to help you with your bags up and down. I would say if we were to return, the only thing I would change is to be on the next floor up because the hotel is above a restaurant and I did hear the kitchen door (I presume that is what it was) swinging shut, chairs and tables moving and a little bit of music until it shut down around 12-1 am, especially on the weekend. However, it is closed on Mondays. If you are a heavier sleeper this will not bother you at all. Henk and Annemarie are what make this stay the most memorable!

Wat hebben wij hier een heerlijk verblijf gehad. Alles was top, helemaal niets op aan te merken. Henk en Annemarie zijn een uitstekende gastheer en gastvrouw. Je voelt je er heel erg welkom. Hier komen wij zeker nog eens terug!

This is the third time we have stayed at Hotel Malts. Henk and Annamarie are wonderful inn keepers, professional but so friendly. It is like visiting old friends. The facility is clean and comfortable. The breadfasts are wonderful. We loved chatting with the other guests at breakfast. This is our go to place in Haarlem.
