Amadeus Hotel

Checking in could not be simpler but to do it you need to find a member of staff in the bar. The hotel is above a busy bar but noise from this is not too bad. It is in the bar that a decent breakfast is served although the coffee is really strong. I stayed in a single room which although small was workable. First impression generally was favourable as it was clean and only later did I notice the bird dropping on the inside of the window. Bed gave a good nights sleep so no problems there. You need to be careful with the shower as the hot water gets very hot very quickly so could get scalded if not careful. The only safe way I found to use the shower was to turn the cold tap on first and then slowly introduce hot water. I was there for a week and its location is ideal for exploring Haarlem and for taking day trips. It is an easy walk to the station and you pass two big supermarkets on the way for collecting supplies. Seems popular with locals given the number of Dutch people staying there. Cannot fault the staff as they are friendly and when your room gets serviced - which occasionally gets missed you always get fresh towels.

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. We had 2 single rooms on the second floor, 22 and 24. We had a really good experience. The staff were warm and friendly and seemed to be a good team ( thanks particularly to Anna). The hotel was warm and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Each room was plainly furnished and had tea making facilities, toiletries, hairdryer and even a box of tissues. This was more than expected for the price. The bathrooms are compact but have all you would expect. If you are a larger person, you may struggle. Some reviews had mentioned noise at this hotel. We stayed midweek and had rooms facing the back of the hotel. We had no trouble at all with noise despite the whole GroteMarkt hosting a fun fair during our stay! In fact, we were astonished to see so many fellow guests at breakfast as the hotel was so quiet at night! Others have mentioned the excellent breakfast but I will add that if you are gluten free and ask, the staff will bake gluten free rolls for you at breakfast and they were delicious. We also ate dinner at the Vester restaurant twice and it was sooo good! Overall we would certainly return here. Haarlem is delightful and we enjoyed the central position of the hotel.

Hallo team Amadeaus hotel Haarlem Vwb slapen was het prima. Alleen het ontbijt was niet geregeld. Ik heb een half uur gewacht van 8:02 tot 08:29 uur maar er was niemand aanwezig om het ontbijt te verzorgen. Ondertussen zijn er 2 andere gasten ook vertrokken zonder ontbijt! Pas op het allerlaatste moment arriveerde er een medewerker die me op het laatste moment koffie heeft aangeboden, maar toen moest ik weg ivm mijn afspraak.
