"Great hotel with nice garden and pool and very friendly staff. Rooms are large enough to sort out the stuff we need to take to climb Kilimanjaro. They keep your luggage until you return. The only negative is that they let outside people come enjoy the pool or rent the space for weddings. Can be disturbing but you can also see it positively, great local vibe"

"The Kaliwa Lodge was a fantastic experience. We arrived after a long traveling journey and were welcomed by the incredible staff! The rooms are beautiful and the food is freshly cooked everyday and so delicious. It is super peaceful and if the clouds allow it you have a panorama view of the Kilimanjaro, it’s unreal. Still, the best thing was probably the incredibly sweet, helpful and kind staff. Omari and all the others are doing an amazing job. Thank you."

"We stayed here as a starting point for our guide company and Kilimanjaro climb. The entire team (Revo, Scolastica, Ester, Teddy - to name a few) were all beyond phenomenal. They’re attentive to your needs and such kind people. The room was simple and very clean. You can tell the workers took so much pride in their hotel. The shower was a tad temperamental but it did the trick. They have a blow dryer at the front desk, if needed. And yes - they prefer you put your lunch and dinner requests in early. The food was pretty good. Breakfast is buffet and included with your stay. The hotel helps fund the school next door. So feel free to donate to them or bring some extra school supplies for donation if you wish. Oh - and there’s a great view of kili also from the balconies!"
