"Good location for hiking to the Brocken mountain. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is delicious. I bumped my head on the rail above the pillow; it's at an awkward height. There's a staff shortage. Unfortunately, the receptionists are always somewhere else, which is a shame. I've worked in hotels before and know how stingy the owners/managers can be. So, please hire more people. If the hotel had guests all year round, this wouldn't be a problem."

"We were happy with a family celebration in the hotel. Due to the large number of guests, several changes had to be made beforehand. All changes were made and confirmed quickly and precisely. Small things such as table reservations were carried out by the staff without any special request and without complaint. The various menus in the evening gave no reason for complaint, the food was sufficient and the eye could eat along very well. At breakfast, the only complaint was the stupidity of a young waiter. The fried egg we ordered was not served after the first, second or even third request. But the error was corrected with a sufficient apology from another member of staff. The rooms were clean, adequately equipped, and special pillows were brought to the room immediately. The bar was also flawless, the drinks appealing and delicious."

"The restaurant is extremely overpriced and the service extremely bad. We ordered a bottle of red wine before dinner. When asked which one we wanted, we asked for the wine list. The waiter brought the list, somewhat reluctantly. After making our selection, the waiter said "I knew it". When asked how he knew which wine we would choose, he said that he had to go to the cellar to find it. The wine was rather average. The bottle cost €48. The price in the shops was €9. I have never experienced a factor of 5 anywhere else. The food was good, but also overpriced. A fried trout for €42 is not easy to find. When we were considering whether we should have another round of schnapps at around 11 p.m., the waiter said "Please don't, he wants to go home too". Absolutely embarrassing for a 5-star hotel."
