I had an overnight stay in June and tried The Cottages for the first time. I found the hosts very friendly and their communication was great. The Studio room was plenty big enough for a couple or single traveler like myself. Very clean, well equipped, and warm for a 2°c night! The bed is comfy. I'd think it would be a great place in the summer months when the pool is open, for a family to stay. A lovely setting, quiet, and the animals quietly doing their thing in the paddocks make for a peaceful stay. I recommend The Cottages for your next Havelock North visit.

Everything was great from when we first arrived to when we left. Our 8 year old also loved it, the place is clean and tidy, tidy grounds and very friendly hosts. We weren't in the cottage much over the 3 days as we had a conference to attend and often out for lunch. But when we were there it was like home away from home. The owner were no fuss and relaxed, there if we needed but just just us to do it really. Great stay, I'd go back. Thanks for having us and having a place so close to town. I hope your business thrives.

Janine and Ryan went out of their way to accommodate us. The service is amazing and it is a comfortable place to stay in a great handy location. It is nice to have animals right by the deck. All in all it is a relaxing place to stay and we will definitely be back. 8-)

Back at my favourite place, it’s like my home away from home so welcoming and relaxing it’s like being on holiday while I’m away working I recommend this place to everyone. I love this place while away working my family loves it while away it’s just amazing

What a great place to stay. Clean, tidy, well appointed and a great atmosphere. spacious out door area with a lovely rural outlook. Janine & Ryan were great hosts and went the extra mile for us. The pool was great would definitly recommend to others.

Had a fantasitc time staying at kidnappers cottage. The kids loved the animals, fruit trees and pool all to themselves. What I particularly love about this family run affair is the privacy and space around the cottage so close to Havelock (we walked in to have an early dinner at pipi's). It was obviously fejoa season and we all had a couple for breakfast. Ryan found us some free range eggs from the roaming hens. Just perfect get away - we'll be back!

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel like family and the accommodations were great. I was there for work but the family came with me and loved it the Pig Alan was a real hit as were the rest of the animals and the night sky’s were amazing stars everywhere. I can’t wait to come back and stay again.

Multiple stays during December 2024 and Jan 2025. A lovely place to stay - comfy beds, well equipped accommodation. Have stayed in both the studio and also stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage. Great rural setting with animals just out your window - very relaxing, can cool off in the pool if you wish and there is a playground if you have children. Just down the road from the Strawberry Patch, and many dining and shopping spots with Havelock North less than 5 mins down the road. Highly recommended
