Shingalana Guest Lodge

We were very pleasantly surprised when we found ourselves in a house with a kitchen as we have a toddler granddaughter travelling with us and the executive room was very safe and this made it easy to sterilise bottles and prepare our own food. We went on an evening safari however our transport was late and we held up the safari crew leaving on time. When we returned from our safari we were offered a meal at spur to be delivered so we placed the order around 8.30 at night. Two hours later our meals had not arrived and we went to bed hungry and very unhappy. All the excuses under the sun were offered over these two hours. In the end we cancelled it as too late and upset to eat. Spur offered a free breakfast to make up for the calamity of the previous evening however as I booked the rate that included breakfast we declined. We placed your order for breakfast and it was delivered to the house as requested and it was beautiful. When we went to hand back the keys the lady said we needed to pay for the breakfast. I had to show her the rate that I booked included breakfast so I had already paid for it. We did not pay and I left unhappy and declared we would never be back. I would suggest better communication and never trust the local delivery people. Get yourself to the Safari gate there is parking there and get yourself dinner or make your own. The accommodations were excellent for us it was the local delivery people who really let us down. Also maybe book the rate that does not include breakfast then when they charge you for it it will be ok.

The breakfast was just ok the bacon was spoiled first morning we ate. The pool area very nice the rooms could do with a microwave so we don’t have to ask to use the kitchen and annoy stuff members. For the money we pay then we don’t get cutlery ? It’s a no no for me! We got plastic teaspoons and had to buy our own cutlery

This is our second time staying when we have visitors. We had a house and a room (i like the flexibility to add on). The location is ao convenient and the staff were so nice and helpful. We wil definitely be back!

The staff, especially Kikimafe our stay an awesome experience. Loved the pool and wood & gas braai facilities and the property is well maintained. All our excursion details were taken care of - including packed breakfast for the game drive and timely reminders 😊 The lodge is a true home away from home - far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main road that it is quiet and one can relax with no safety concerns. Shingalana is a beautiful place, natural surroundings. Quiet and peaceful. Great hospitality from the host Kiki. Exceptional care and service from her. Lovely breakfast as well. No complaints....................................

nice property in neighbourghood that only by car is reachable, nearby main street , very beautifull garden with nice pool, boma, good continental breakfast but only from 7:30AM
