Travelodge Hemel Hempstead Gateway

Basic but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good, varied choice and decent quality. Had evening meal in the Toby Carvery next door but there are a choice of eating places within walking distance - KFC, McD’s, Costa, Dominoes & Subway. Special shout out to Mary on reception who solved a couple of issues - a credit to the hotel.

A massive thank you to Mary, Jordan and co for making every stay at this hotel a wonderful experience. Rooms are clean and well looked after, and there is always amenities for cups of tea and coffee

Three of us stayed in a family room so we could attend parkrun in the morning. It was clean, tidy and spacious. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were all very polite. We did experience slow service between our mains and desserts for the evening meal - we had to prompt them as we think they had forgotten. The cost of a can of Pepsi Max (£2.75) is extremely expensive! The main road just outside is very noisy so we had to close our room window during the night. The water pressure of our toilet was not strong enough to flush away the toilet paper.

This is a fairly basic but well-maintained hotel. Easy parking, good to have several eateries attached so can grab pizza, Subway or a meal. Room was clean and bright. Eating area was a bit lacklustre in terms of atmosphere and breakfast pretty basic but reasonable for cost

I’m staying at the Travelodge Hemel Hempstead Gateway and being physically disabled I have had great service from Mary who has given extra help to make my stay easier and better from carrying my bags in from the car to making hot drinks. I would definite stay here again.

It's not about the mistakes but the corrections! We arrived after 3pm, staying for 2 nights. As soon as I entered the room, I could tell the bed wasn't properly made, being suspicious I pulled the covers back, sure enough there were strands of long black hair in it, obviously we complained and after an inspection was put in another room Massive apologies given, later the receptionist came knocked on our door to check we were happy with new room. Offered us a complementary free breakfast the next day. There were still niggles with our new room, the shower gel dispenser didn't work and the toilet cistern never fully shut off and as mentioned in previous reviews the beds are very small double but uncomfortable too. However location, free parking and a fee attentive staff are very good points. 10/10 for trying to give us a nice stay but I shall be sticking to my usual accommodation in Hemel Hempstead.
