George Hotel

酒店位置非常好，方便遊覽哈德良長城，遊覽周邊的鄉村，有條小河旁邊流過，景色非常美；酒店是有點老舊了，但維護得還行，衞生間好像也重新裝修過；停車場有充足的停車位；早餐不錯，但，晚餐不是全包，它是自己點，25鎊以內，多不還，少補，這個有點不習慣。

Peaceful, tranquil location by the river Tyne. My last stay in the hotel was about 35 years ago and little would appear to have changed still very pleasant but a little faded by todays glittery standards. Good room rates.

Amazing hotel. Beautiful location, right along Hadrian’s Wall walk. The room was the biggest of any we stayed in on our trip and the beds were super comfortable. The packed lunch was expensive, but it was about the same price as all the other b&b along the route. Dinner was delicious. All in all a great experience!

Beautiful setting but really run down hotel. Our room was ground level at the back and despite the chatty and welcoming guy on the reception things went downhill from there. The room was dated, dark and really musty. The smell was so pungent and in our opinion needed a complete overhaul. The carpets and headboard smelt so musty and the pillows and sheets felt damp to the touch. This hotel needs a serious injection of cash to bring it back to its best. The location next to the river was by far the best thing about the hotel and we couldn’t wait to check out. Really disappointing.

Three of us popped in for lunch one day recently. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very comfortable. I really love the pictures (murals?) of Hadrian's Wall and Sycamore Gap. We enjoyed sandwiches and a charcuterie board. Not the cheapest food but it was very nice. The best part of The George, in my opinion, is the beautiful setting. It's worth visiting just for the view.

Great location for the Hadrians wall trail east to west. Not much in the village itself- a decent pub up the road but no other shops that we found. Rooms good size really, although one of our rooms was smaller than the other twin room. Lots of long thin corridors to navigate round- found it easier to head straight out to the back car park and around. Room for the time of year was very hot. Fans did nothing to cool them. Also curtains on the thin side so light came in very early- making it an early rise for the guests. Dinner meal was Ok. Not the cheapest, but a lovely location and nice view of the river. Service at resteraunt was good. Breakfast buffet, everything you would expect, although I dont recall finding any porridge. Cooked food may have been slightly over cooked and not that hot. Dissapointed that the pool was closed for some refurbishment and we were never made aware of that beforehand. We had booked almost a year in advance so think we should have been notified of that at some point. The biggest rip off though was the pack lunch deal. If you are hiking, there is no where else near by to get any food- so you are pretty much stuck with having one from the hotel, as not really anything enroute either of note. The price I was told a month before was £7.95 - on our stay it was £9.95. And for what. Two slices of dry bread- with a bit of processed ham slapped inbetween them with a smidge of butter on one side. A packet of crisps, one harvest nut bar and the smallest bottle of water that you can get- 33cl. Not even a piece of fruit. Absolutely disgraceful. It was really dissapointing and as I was starving after a 7 mile hike looking forward to a lunch and some much needed fuel I was not a happy hiker. Please try better. Would I recommend- not sure. Location wise yes. And probably is a necessity really. But definitely needs improvement.
