Hotel Glemmtalerhof

Without question one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. All of the little details added so much to our stay; including towelling robes, baskets, amazing ski boot room, daily newspapers. The hotel is situated in a perfect location for easy ski lift access to get to both sides of the valley mountains. The amenities are fabulous with spacious, comfortable rooms and a wonderful pool area for relaxing - perfect after a day skiing. This was our first holiday since having to go dairy and gluten free - this made me extremely nervous of what I would be able to eat. However, as a previous reviewer had mentioned, nothing was too much trouble. My own bread was delivered to our table each morning and evening and meals were adapted for me to be able to enjoy. I hate feeling as though I'm a burden but the staff and chef couldn't do enough to ensure that I had enough to eat and a good variety too - they were all super helpful. There is no question that we would love to return to the Glemmtalerhof - it was an all round wonderful, relaxing experience.

Heute, am 30. März um 21 Uhr, habe ich die Bar des Hotels Glemmtaler besucht. Zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben wurde ich vom Barkeeper, Herrn Jazpag, diskriminiert. Ich hoffe, dass er darüber nachdenkt und andere Gäste korrekt behandelt. Jetzt verstehe ich, wie es ist, aus unklaren Gründen abgewiesen und abgestoßen zu werden. Das wünsche ich niemandem, auch nicht Herrn Jaztag. Ich wünsche ihm viel Weisheit.

Una fantastica vacanza sulle nevi. Un hotel speciale con gente speciale. Frau Christine è una splendida padrona di casa che ti mette sempre a tuo agio. Tutti i servizi al top, bellissimo wellness e ottima ristorazione. Consigliatissimo sia per gli amanti di vacanza sugli sci tra amici che in famiglia.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before in the past 20 years. We returned with our family for Christmas holiday. Our party was 15 strong and the ages ranged from 6 to the mid-70s. We had corresponded extensively with the hotel prior to our arrival and everything was ready for our holiday. Each family was accommodated in adjoining rooms for the children. We were accommodated separately in a well appointed junior suite. The rooms were well-furnished and warm (? sometimes too warm – as there is no air-conditioning). The rooms were generally quiet, although we did experience some noise from other guests on a couple of nights. The beds were comfortable and free WIFI was available. The public rooms and bar were welcoming and we were allocated a table for 15 in one of the 3 dining rooms. The breakfast menu was exceptionally extensive served in a buffet style with freshly cooked dishes available on demand. The dinner menus were extensive and most enjoyable and the younger members of the party could feast from the extensive children’s menu concurrently. We were very well looked after by the helpful waiting staff. The barman was friendly and very efficient. The hotel had arranged taxi transfers from Salzburg for 13 of our party and alerted us when one of the flights was diverted. They immediately rearranged the taxi transfer to collect that family from Linz (at extra cost). We bought our ski-passes from the hotel reception without difficulty. The ski lockers and ski room were the best we have experienced anywhere! We had travelled by car and our luggage was swiftly taken to our room / ski lockers by the portering staff. Our car was parked in the hotel’s underground garage at an extra cost. The swimming pool, sauna and spa facilities were well used by our family as was the games room. Sadly, we experienced some very rowdy behaviour from some other guests from Holland on a couple of evenings after they had returned from their apres-ski activities. Although we had stayed at the hotel many times before, we had not had a similar experience in the hotel previously. On Christmas Eve there was much late night rowdy cheering and shouting later on. This noise woke some of our party sleeping in their rooms – but we let it pass as it was Christmas Eve! We were very disappointed when very similar behaviour occurred in our dining room whilst we were dining just after 8pm on our final evening, 5 days later. We felt that such behaviour was more appropriate to an apres-ski bar rather than a high quality family hotel during dinner – and the staff seemed powerless to intervene and we left dinner early. The reception staff and owner recognised our discomfort and disappointment and apologised profusely. As we departed the next morning, the owner kindly apologised again and spontaneously offered a substantial refund to make amends for this disappointing occurrence - we appreciated her generous action. We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Glemmtalerhof. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent both at breakfast and evening meal. Our grateful thanks go to the chef who prepared delicious, gluten free evening meals for us. It made our holiday very special. Gluten free options including bread rolls and muesli were also provided at breakfast alongside a plentiful buffet of other options. The Joker card provided at the hotel gave free access to many cable cars and the local bus. A truly memorable holiday as we were also blessed with fantastic weather.

The Hotel Glemmtalerhof proved to be an excellent choice. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival and enjoyed mountain views from our balcony. The food is first class and breakfast has a vast choice including hot and cold food. Our room was comfortable and clean . We used the pool a few times and the wellness facilities are superb. Above all the welcome and service by the staff was second to none. They were superb and it made our holiday. There was a bit of noise from another self catering apartment which lasted over a weekend. Hinterglemm doesn't really have a village feel as it's basically a long road. It felt a bit soulless. However the joker card provided by the hotel meant we didn't pay for cable cars or bus travel which saved a considerable amount of money. Access to the mountains from the hotel is brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate about staying at the Hotel Hinterglemm , it's just a pity I didn't fall in love with Hinterglrmm as a village itself.
