Ku Sungula Safari Lodge

Wir hatten das Bush & Elefants Paket in der Ku Sungula Safari Lodge mit 5 Übernachtungen gebucht. Das erste Mal für uns, dass wir eine längere Safari unternommen haben und wir waren deshalb sehr gespannt, was uns da erwartet. Yolanda - die Gastgeberin - hatte uns Transferflüge vom Flughafen Johannesburg nach Hoedspruit gebucht, was uns die Anreise sehr komfortabler gemacht hat. Es hat auch alles wunderbar funktioniert und wir wurden von unserer Trakerin Confi und dem Driver DJ am Flughafen abgeholt. Die beiden waren bei den game drives unsere tollen Begleiter! Die jeweils dreistündigen Jeepfahrten am frühen Morgen und späten Nachmittag waren Höhepunkte und wir haben sehr viele Tiere gesehen. Die Unterkünfte waren komfortabel und schön eingerichtet. Die Lodge war mitten im Busch, klein aber fein. Es hatte einen kleinen Pool, welchen wir wegen der Hitze gerne benutzt haben. In Sichtweite des Pools war ein Wasserloch, wo wir diverse kleine Tiere wie Affen gesehen haben und auch mehrmals Elefanten. Die Köchin hat sehr, sehr fein gekocht und der Abend im Kreis bei einem Braai war sehr speziell von der Atmosphäre her und auch da haben wir sehr gut gegessen. Dann waren wir mit unserer privaten Führerin Brass 1 1/2 Tage mit Übernachtung im Krüger Park unterwegs. Sehr coole Erfahrung gewesen! Zwar viel gefahren ohne Tiere zu sehen, aber doch auch einige sehr schöne Tiere gesehen. Auch alles von der Ku Sungula Lodge organisiert, ebenso wie der eintägige Ausflug auf der Panoramaroute. Verschiedene Aussichtspunkte der Panoramaroute waren jetzt für uns Schweizer, welche in den Alpen wohnen, nichts besonderes. Wie z.B. die div. Wasserfälle. Aber der Blyde River Canyon und the tree Rondavels sowie die Bourke's Luck Potholes waren doch sehr beeindruckend und wunderschön. Es war eine tolle Zeit auf der Lodge, welche wir nie vergessen werden. Wir können sie allen weiterempfehlen.

We hebben met 2 koppels gedurende 3 dagen genoten van de zeer vriendelijke, behulpzame en kundige medewerkers van Ku Sungula. Karakteristieke en comfortabele kamers en bedden, prachtige natuur en erg leuke/succesvolle game drives waarin we 4 van de big-5 van dichtbij hebben gesport maakte dit voor ons een onvergetelijke ervaring.

Our stay at Ku Sungula Safari Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like royalty, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home in the heart of the wild. The culinary experience was out of this world! Every meal was a delicious adventure, expertly crafted with fresh, local ingredients. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food was consistently fantastic and left us eagerly anticipating the next meal. The safaris were the highlight of our trip. Our guides, John and Sibu, were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, providing us with breathtaking encounters with the majestic wildlife of the region. Their expertise and enthusiasm made each safari an unforgettable experience. The lodge's commitment to sustainability and conservation was evident in every aspect of the safari experience. Ku Sungula Safari Lodge is a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic and luxurious African safari experience. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable adventure!

A wonderful 4 night stay to end our Safari holiday (we had previously stayed at another reserve and lodge for 5 nights prior to our stay here) and we had two lodges - Buffalo and Lion (Buffalo had a really lovely outside seating area and we felt was the better of the two). Food was really good and the staff accommodated our dietary requests with no problems. Breakfast included a buffet of fresh fruit salad, juice and cake/scones/pancakes as well as a choice of something cooked. Lunch was one course served to everyone at 2pm and dinner was (for guests when we stayed as the evenings were chilly) served in the boma and again, was the same for everyone (dietary requests excepted) and consisted of a starter, main and dessert. All staff were both friendly and accommodating and clearly enjoy their jobs. Pre dinner drinks after our evening drives were always a lovely chance to catch up with other guests and chat to the staff. We were really lucky to have John as our Guide and DJ as our Tracker and they were simply amazing. DJ has eyes like a hawk and can spot an animal a mile away, even spotting chameleon in the tree at night and in the scrubland whilst trying to see the lions. They are a real asset to the lodge. All in all a simply wonderful stay. Thank you!

Best ever safari experience! Everything was perfect! Great place, friendly staff, good food, nice pool and a totally best ever experience with the safari. We had two safaris per day, one in the early morning and one in the afternoon and we did see elephants ( a lot), lions, buffalos, crocs, giraffs, rhinoceros, impalas, other deers and many more during the four tours we did during three days.

Had the most amazing safari experience. Ku Sungula offers a fantastic stay, the rooms are lovely, each with its own outside veranda/sitting area, the food was exquisite, a la carte. The grounds are well kept, a lovely pool and lots of sitting areas. We were visited by elephants whilst sunbathing by the pool. We went on two safari drives per day, our rangers, Universe and John, were absolutely fantastic, in tracking the big 5. Had great service by all.
