The Boshaw Trout

Fuss-free, top class Yorkshire service! I had previously stayed at the Boshaw a couple of months prior to this stay and was looking forward to eating at the pub and pint or two. I was disappointed to find that, prior to my arrival but after booking, the pub was closed on Tuesdays. This would mean a drive into Homfirth (there is nothing around) to get food, not ideal. When I mentioned this to Ian (the proprietor), he offered me the alternative of staying at their sister pub in Holmfirth - he even drove down with me following to ensure I knew where to go and got a parking space. Service doesnt get much better than that!

Practically perfect My wife and I stayed here on a bit of a whim seeking a break, and had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely immaculate. The staff were so friendly and lovely, they really made us feel welcomed and as though nothing was too much trouble. Dinner that evening and breakfast the next day were both fantastic, the beer selection on offer great, and the atmosphere of the pub cosy and inviting. If I had to nitpick, there was a little intrusive road noise first thing in the morning (but perfectly quiet over night), but otherwise was just brilliant. We'll definitely return!

There is a Conundrum! Let me start by saying location was not ideal for my trip! There are two lasting memories of my experience the people were warm, kind, interested and hospitable. Jess, Lilley, Rob, Issy, Sheila, Ethan and a chef who I am guilty of not asking you truly made the stay. Oh, did I mention the location not being ideal for my trip....it was idyllic. The view from my window will live with me and give my next trip another choice challenge. The general area was full of surprises to decompress after tough day's. Otherwise the room was clean and well presented and the food on site was of a high quality and hearty.

The fire alarm going off all night and no staff to turn it off or check the rooms had to call the firebrigade

Very nice homely country pub with good food and Local brewery (Nook), excellent views and easy reach of Holmfirth (we did get a taxi for the nearly 2 miles / 10 mins journey). Will definitely be staying again when we visit the Picturedrome again.
