My stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, was a mixed experience. The location is absolutely superb, making it incredibly convenient for transportation and shopping, with an abundance of dining, entertainment, and activities nearby. However, the decor felt dated, much of the furniture showed significant wear and tear, and the facilities seemed old, which didn't quite match the hotel's luxury positioning. What was even more frustrating was that around 7 AM the next morning, the fire alarm suddenly blared. We rushed downstairs, only to be told by the front desk that it was triggered by steam from another guest's water heater. After that, I couldn't get back to sleep, and it really put a damper on my mood. (When checking out, the hotel mentioned they would offer a room upgrade for my next stay. I'm not sure if that will actually happen, but I'm making a note here.)
