Wow wow wow!!! The description doesn't do it justice, Nothing less than laying your own eyes on it will do! This place is a locals staycation dream and for me and my partner (first time big Island visitors) it was PARADISE! The wonderful people who run the property do an amazing job of making it an experience to remember. We Enjoyed endless fun on their private trail munched on countless fruits some we've never tried and were cut up and served special for us ❤️❤️❤️❤️. There's so much wildlife to boot and On our very last morning walking back up the trail we got to see DOLPHINS! This place is nothing short of spectacular. Full disclaimer if you don't like the sounds of the jungle don't visit the jungle. Cannot wait to come back they definitely deserve TEN BIG BIG Stars ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This boutique hotel is a true gem in Hawaii. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was peaceful and grounding—lush surroundings, soft breezes, and a sense of calm that stays with you. The ambiance is serene and elevated, perfect for anyone looking to truly unwind. The pool is surprisingly large for a boutique property—spacious, quiet, and ideal for relaxing without feeling crowded. The spa was another standout—peaceful, professional, and deeply rejuvenating. And the food… wow. Chef Joseph’s creations were unforgettable. Every meal felt personal and thoughtfully crafted—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s the kind of dining experience that doesn’t just complement your stay—it defines it. If you’re looking for a quiet, elegant escape with soul, this place delivers.

Beautiful view and property with a nice walk to the rock beach. Room is very nice. Water didn't work for one of the evenings which was unfortunate as the shower and bath were part of why we selected this location. Staff was as quick to fix it as they could... unfortunately running out of water is not an easy fix. I appreciate them responding quickly but not having running water for part of the stay knocks it down a bit.

We had the best time at Hamakua hotel. First, the manager was very accomodating and generous. The room was beautiful, big, clean, with big windows - so relaxing. And we had the chance to attend the surprise dinner on tuesday night. It was unbelievable. Truly, one of the best dinners in my life. We were amazed and so grateful. The Hamakua hotel is a pricey place to stay, but for the experience that we had, it was all worth it. Beyond expectations. We truly recommend it!

The property was a small beautiful waterfront hotel. The staff and owner was amazing, and always there to get you what you need. The property is very clean and in a great location! Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, small and that makes interaction with other guests guaranteed. We had a lovely time there, would definitely recommend!
