The Cottage Hotel

We stayed at the Cottage hotel 45 years ago and as we were staying in Salcombe decided to book dinner there. The hotel has expanded but the old traditionally values remain. The staff were excellent and the food was traditionally English well cooked with "honest" flavours. We had a delightful meal served in the good old fashioned way, excellent

Returned to this hotel to relax with family. The staff are incredibly efficient - this is a well oiled machine, closely watched over by the lovely owners to make sure standards do not slip. As well as being efficient, all the staff are very friendly. The food is the best, the views are the best, the beds are comfortable ( two types of pillow - one soft, one medium - so everyone is catered for), plenty of storage - in fact I cannot fault the hotel in any way. If you are booking a holiday here, make sure you have a sea view as I doubt whether it could be bettered.

We stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the service. Parking was difficult as we arrived at 2000 and non residents using the Resturant filled the parking spaces. Could not fault the staff

My in-laws have been visiting the Cottage hotel every year for over 20 years now and for the past few years as the family has grown-up and we have used various holiday homes in the village we got to know the hotel and William and Sarah well. It's only been over the past few years that myself, my partner and her sister & husband have joined the girls parents for an extended stay. We have seen several subtle changes over the years and nothing distracts from the service and ambience of the hotel whatsoever. We have been lucky to enjoy balcony rooms and some mornings waking up to that view is second to none. The staff all through the hotel are so friendly and professional and over the past couple of years have got to know Tom & Steve (in the bar) a little better and could not praise them enough. We briefly met Neil last May but were able to chat to him on and off over our week and we all thought he is a great addition to the team, again friendly, professional and nothing too much trouble, especially some evenings this year when there could be up to 12 of us in the bar before dinner !! David and all the restaurant staff were again very helpful & friendly and took time to make sure we were looked after. Stunning views, friendly staff, great food, lovely building...what's not to like

Stayed here while walking the southwest coast path. Great location. Great food and plenty of it! Professional and friendly staff. Have already recommended it to others.
