The Funky Dodo Backpackers Hostel

Preis-Leistung etwas zu hoch. Das Personal war sehr unsympatisch. Die Fragen wurden zwar beantwortet, aber waren nur bedingt hilfreich.

Ok place, the staff and travellers I met left something more sing in the vibe to many hostels I’ve stayed at the last while!

Mixed Bag. Funky Dodo is an economical choice for travelers who don’t need much. The property is really lovely. It’s very close to the beach, restaurants, ATM, and grocery stores. There’s a nice courtyard to sit in. We had a private room so I can’t speak to the condition of the shared rooms. We were surprised to learn that there is no air conditioning. They did give us an extra fan. Most nights the temp was ok, but our last night it was too hot to sleep. WiFi connection was spotty. Sometimes there’s hot/warm water, sometimes not. Our biggest complaint is that we bought a bunch of Belizean chocolate bars to bring back as gifts. We put them in the communal fridge to avoid melting, wrapped in a bag with our names on it, and someone stole half of them, and put a partially eaten one back in the bag.

Nice place to stay. Close to the beach. Fun to meet backpackers and share with them.

Great hostel, be absolutely sure to ask for Jamal's taxi services when you stay here, he's brilliant and has so much knowledge of the area. Just ask for his number at the front desk! We went to Mayflower Bocawina, and Cockscombe basin also, he had loads of useful knowledge of the flora and fauna of both!
