Travelodge Ilminster

Reception was not manned in the morning, iconic for people who ordered breakfast to go, more like hang around and we’ll get to you when we can. Also, second day, having waited for the receptionist to show up there was only one breakfast to go available. We had pre booked this how difficult is it to stock for the events of the day? Was offered the singular breakfast which I guess we were meant to share. I said we will get something somewhere else and left. Later my wife went down and apparently the receptionist had found the breakfast to go boxes and give my wife two, both were unrefrigerated , with warm milk and water, delicious. Seriously two breakfast pre booked what’s so hard about having them ready and remind your under-staffed receptionists to be there in the morning for people who may have ordered your breakfast to go. Woeful.

The staff are great and very helpful, the hotel is clean and tidy. Their coffee is delicious. The rooms are large enough and the bed is comfortable Thank you!

I understand that Travelodge are catering for budget friendly hotel stays, but we paid £80.00 for room only. Not worth the money seeing the bath was so narrow it felt unsafe to have a shower. We generally stay somewhere close to Ilminster, which £110.00 per night, with breakfast, but was not available at the time. Don’t bother staying here. There are much better places locally.

Not the first time we've stayed here. It is in a good position and has eateries close by plus a pub called The Stonemasons for food and drinks is also walkable.

There’s no air con in the rooms, water pressure in the shower is basically non existent, and I stood at reception for about 10 minutes for someone to appear to check me in.
